When my finch Buster drowned in the sink I put him in the cage with Babs when I went to work so she could grieve over him. Then I took her cage out and let her watch me bury him. Had a little pottery like jewlry case with 91 Psalms on it, was blue and gold. Just the right size for his little stiff body. Ground was frozen so I planted him in a flower pot there.

(Babs had 2 eggs hatching, so had to take Buster out so he wouldn't eat them). Got out of his makeshift cage and committed suicide in 1/2 inch water in the sink (first time I'd left water in the sink).

Then I gave Babs to my granddaughter Cassie.

At Foster Parenting Classes tonight (it's taught by a young woman, and a young single gal both social workers)...

They tend to go into detail...About a foster family not allowing a foster child to take belongings they had given her while living there. I immediately snapped to attention and aske, " Did you say share his genitals with her?" Well, pandimonum broke out, people laughed until they cried.

She'd said, "Share his GI TOYS with her." So I tried to explain I was from OK, she was from Canada, so the emphasis is put on words different.

Then I tried to explain that in nursing, dealing with very old disabled people, BMS (bowel movements) and Genitals are a way of life every day. It's like discussing the weather. I didn't mean to shock anyone.

Finally, she gave me two shiny stickers to put on my name tag. All the pets had the stickers, I only had a few. Cause I talk so slow and low, I can't get a word in edgwise.

I've never been in a mental institution. I did spend a week once in a regular hospital in the psyche ward, lockdown. I was crying every day at the same time (5:00 in the evening). And I had ulcers.

He hit my back panel, never got a ticket, but I did. So I got off all that shit and got on Sinequan, it helped me sleep. That was what I needed.

The group theraphy, I remember one gal who wouldn't eat. She was anorexic, there was a drunk, a lady who undressed herself, a drug addict, one who thought he was Jesus Christ (Was that Ford?), and one who had overdosed.

The anorexic said she felt like a balloon floating over cactus, looking to get stuck any minute.

When it came my turn I just told them all Ed did was watch the elections and stay out at the farm. He was a staunch Democrat. And go to car auctions with his 24 year old girlfriend.

Well, my friend Yolanda of 15 yrs. (our kids grew up together as friends, and we go to the same church, heck we even go out dancing sometimes) came over and helped me open up the boarded over door to the apt. (my home is a duplex).

And we worked most of the day child proofing it, and refurnishing it. Gosh, you can spend a lot of money quick. I'm as excited as I used to be when I found out I was pregnant again.

I am ready for a couple foster kids. Now if I can just get everything else done to get my liscense. My finger prints and criminal record are
not back yet, got to get a physical, got a new tb test. Need fire marshall come and inspect, and get an extinguisher. Case worker needs to come look and advise.

Think Yolanda and I are going dancing tonight. Her husband won't go, aren't we glad? We go where there is no drinking or smoking; Just a bunch of old fuddie duddies there, but they can cut a rug. And everyone is friendly. Supposed to be singles (don't tell anyone).

I don't drink or smoke anyway, so that doesn't bother me. And I have been off all meds at bedtime for years. I did take some meds when I hurt my back a month ago, but they are gone too.

Today has not been a good day. I left work early and cried all the way home. My back where I fell must have jammed something between my shoulder blades.

And today my daughter Dana who was raped, murdered and found a week later in a junked car in a salvage in 91 would have turned 35.

And because of that and my youngest son having a breakdown and being on drugs. I had to send him to rehab a couple times. I may not get a foster parent liscense. They claimed that on my 300 or 500 question test a couple red flags came up. I've always told the truth when everyone else lied. So if I can't get my liscense by telling the truth, I don't need them anyway. My son lives 1000 mi away now.

The guys in the Wall claim they sent letters stopping my efforts to be a foster parent.

Well, I didn't finish Foster parent classes. They told me I couldn't get a liscense. My 300 question test, I didn't answer all and answered yes and no on some.

SO they wanted to send me to a psycologist for a 500 question test, for $400. a 3-4 hr. test to determine if I needed more counselling.

I told him I never answered the ones which wasn't any of his business, and I thought the whole thing was a money racket.

My daughter being murdered drove her younger brother to a breakdown and drugs. Bad things happen to good people. She sang in church choir, helped run the eyeware corp.

I sent my son to rehab and flew him to OK to live. He had already graduated and left home. He was living with his older brother in Nashville helping make country videos. He came back for her trial and stayed. He wasn't living at home when he got on heavy drugs.

I did all I could for him. He has been clean several years now.

I've never taken anything free from the government. Although through the years I've paid a small fortune in taxes and etc. I feel if I need it my senators and congressmen should be there for me. Because they are supported by the taxpayer's money.

And if the counsellor works thru the state I'm paying his wages already too.

With the personal experience I've had I feel better equipped than most to handle a kid with drugs, or a kid whose family has been killed, etc. The medical knowledge I have and working with disabled and mentally ill as I have I'd be an asset, rather than a loss to them.

People almost my age with no experience raising kids trying to start now? With the long careers, jewelry, hair, makeup, nails, designer clothes, fancy houses, cars, pools. When do they have time to care for kids? Or anyone other than themselves?

Most of them wouldn't even get involved or walk across the street to help someone unless they got paid for it. I wouldn't want to be the child who got them for parents. I bet a child couldn't "touch" anything in their houses without being reprimanded. And I bet the taking away privledges will be an everyday affair.
