Like i said before: Rank all of the classic VH albums from 1(which would be the best of the 6)to 6(being still awesome, but the worst of all) and name the 2 best songs of the album
i'll go with:

1) Van Halen- because there is no weak track on the fucking album, plus it has more songs than any other classic VH album
(best songs are Runnin' with the Devil and Feel Your Love Tonight)

2) Fair Warning- this album is only at #2 because not all the tracks are great(One Foot Out The Door), but the best songs on this album(Mean Streets, Hear about it Later, Unchained, and So this is Love?) are better than the best songs on Van Halen. Another reason why it's not #1 is because it's too short.
(best songs are Unchained and So this is Love?)

3) Women and Children First - dude it's got Romeo Delight and Everybody Wants Some!! Need i say more
(best songs read above)

4) Diver Down - may be filled with covers, but it still rocks hard
(best songs are Little Guitars and The Full Bug)

5) 1984 - even though i love this album, this is not what Van Halen was about. What's up with the fucking synths, i know it was the 80's but please, this is VH!
(Panama and Top Jimmy)
6) Van Halen II - well one of these amazing albums has to be in last place, and this album is awesome. The only problem is it's too short and there seems to be alot of b material, but it's still a kick ass album and a must have!
(D.O.A. and Beautiful Girls)

people give me your lists as well

This ain't going to make me popular but fuck it! I prefer VHII over FW! Ok, it has got some masterpieces(unchained, mean street, so this is love) but also..sunday afternoon in the park, one foot out the door, push comes to shove!?! VHII is short but has no filler and kicks ass! My least favorite is 1984 cause of the change towards keyboard tunes. So :
1)VHII: light up the sky, you're no good, fuck too many..
2)VHI : ice cream man, eruption
3)WACF : romeo delight, take your whiskey home
4)FW : unchained, mean street
5)DD : little guitars, hang 'em high
6)1984 : hot for teacher, panama

1 VHII (D.O.A. and Women in Love)

2 VH (I'm the One and Little Dreamer)

3 Fair Warning (Mean Street and Hear about it Later)

4 1984 (Girl Gone Bad and Hot for Teacher)

5 Women and Children First (Fools and Everybody Wants Some)

6 Diver Down (Where Have All the Good Tiems Gone and (Oh!)Pretty Woman)

all VH songs kick ass and they are the greatest group of all fucking time, so i just want to make it clear that this wasnt an easy list to make, cause i love all their material......and obviously when i say VH is the greatest group ever I mean VAN DAVID LEE ROTH HALEN is the greatest group of all fucking time!!!!!!!

All six albums were 30-35 minutes long. To say that one is too short is silly.

I grew up on Van Halen and bought each album in order in the DLR era. Never bought a Van Hagar record.
1984, I just never listen to that album, it's so NOT Van Halen to me. It's watered down Van Halen for the MTV generation and it never grew on me. :umm:
Reminds me of Def Leppard Pyromania, Scorpions Love At First Sting, Aerosmith Get a Grip etc ---too commercial !!

WACF:
* Romeo Delight, Loss of control. Blitzkrieg tunes for sure. Everything else kicks ass. the only bad points i give this album is ...NONE.

FW
* Sinners Swing, Unchained. SS has a killer solo and it's just crazy. Not a big fan of Push comes to Shove or Sunday Afternoon In the Park.... but I do like One Foot Out The Door.. Good solo, great lyrics, fun song even if it's synth driven.

VH
* Aint talkin bout love, Atomic Punk! - the whole album is real solid but never was a huge fan of jamie's crying or little dreamer, so blah.

1984
* Hot For Teacher, Panama. Great album but I find myself mainly listening to panama, hot for teacher and house of pain

VH2
Outta love again, light up the sky. Don't really like DTNA, YNG or women in love too much.

DD
Hang 'em High, Full Bug.

ADKOT:
As Is, Outta space. this CD is all killer; no filler but I'm still in honeymoon phase w/it so no ranking :)

It's not easy to narrow it down to just 2 songs per album.... so many albums have equal #1 songs to me from beginning to end. Especially so for VH1-FW.

VH II
Light Up The Sky
Outta Love Again
(Women In Love)

VH I
Atomic Punk
On Fire
(Little Dreamer)

Fair Warning
Mean Street
Dirty Movies
(One Foot Out The Door)

WACF
Romeo Delight
Fools
(In A Simple Rhyme)

1984
Girl Gone Bad
House Of Pain
(Top Jimmy)

Diver Down
Hang 'em High
Little Guitars
(Big Bad Bill)

A Different Kind Of Truth (not yet a "classic" but will certainly become a classic this decade. Already it has easily overtaken Diver Down and probably jump 1984 in my rankings to make it into 5th position - although I can't hear it any hotter than the first 4 albums)
China Town
As Is
(Outta Space)

So this is love

1) VH I (ATBL, I’m the one)
2) DD (Full bug, Little guitars)
3) FW (hear about it later, one foot out the door)
4) WACF (In a simple rhyme, fools)
5) VH II (bottoms up, WiL (of course))
6) 1984 (top jimmy, panama)
I think DD is unfairly maligned and I find myself listening to it a lot for some reason. But FW is better artistically.
1984 is one of those rare cases where the sum is less than its parts. There is no bad song on that album taken individually (even Jump) but as a whole, it’s kind of sterile. Then again, EEAS is my least favorite Dave solo album (even behind the other DD) so maybe I just don’t like that mid-80s rock overly much.
