Loss of Control drives me nuts with that kicked in the balls soprano singing from Mike Anthony.

Everybody Wants Some gets old for me with the jungle drums and single guitar licks.

I know you guys probably like these songs, but I just don't and those are about the only Van Halen songs I will say that about.

I will qualify this by saying I don't really count songs like Big Bad Bill and Happy Trails. They weren't meant to be taken seriously.

I didn't like WACF at first but it really grew on me. Everybody Wants some is a classic. Loss of Control is not my favourite off that album but it's a great riff.

I love Loss of Control. That's an oldie, I think it goes back to 1975.

Everybody Wants Some!! is a little overrated IMHO. I like the song but it's my least favorite on WACF believe it or not. THAT's how great of an album it is!

WACF sounded loud, loose, wild, drunk and great. The two songs belong in there.

Dave is great on Everybody wants some.

Didn't know Van Hagar was included...5150, OU812 and FUCK are listenable sometimes , as long as you don't think of it as Van Halen.
From Balance until now....I hate most songs.

Ditto.

When I bought the albums on vinyl years ago WACF was the last one I got and I didn`t listen to it a lot.

Didn`t have the others off the turntable long enough.

However, when the remasters came out I bought them all again and gave them all a good spin.

It`s a strange album but it is really good.

Maybe my second favourite after "Van Halen".

It`s close between "WACF" and "Fair warning".

Yea i think the only song i like on WACF is cradle...

And as far as 5150, ou812, FUCK and Balance...

I like them. I really do. DOnt think of them as van halen. Think of them as sammy hagar and his solo band, cause if you try and compare hagar to roth, there is no comparison. If you try and compare the 2 eras, you cant. If roth stayed with van halen and 4 random guys wrote the exact same songs, with the exact same sound, in the exact same release order, you'd all love them. But because its the 3 VH members and the new singer, you hate them. They should have dropped the Van Halen name after roth, because sammy didnt deserve to sport the name that dave made famous.

The key to appreciating 1986-1995 is just to think of them as someone else. The songs are good, but the animosity and drama really damaged their rep.

I think the 3 new songs are kinda shitty, and god damn, sammy a fat fucking slob now. You guys see this bastard?

ALL songs on WACF are great... if you ask me!

WACF is a favourite of mine. It gets a lot of fucking play in my system.

I like Loss of Control. It's got a real punk energy to it, and shows the more creative, experimental side of VH.

And you can't beat the hugeness of Eddie's tone coming in at the start of Everybody Wants Some. It's a fucking incredible guitar sound.

EWS also has some of Dave's most memorable lines. Classic top-notch DLR material.

I love LOSS OF CONTROL. It's one of my favorites, probably because I'm a huge punk fan. It really has that punk edge to it and reminds me why the original band is so much better than the Journey cover-band Hagar turned VH into.

Ed's solo and guitar work on LOSS OF CONTROL are astonishing.

I recently got Demo Daze which has 3 songs from WACF recorded in the late 70's I think. Fools, Take Your Whiskey Home and In a simple Rhyme plus some other cool stuff like Vodoo Queen which is basically Mean Streets with different lyrics.

WACF is better than any album Eddie did after 1984.

Everybody wants Some is one of my favorite classic Vh songs, I never get tired of that tune. It has a that huge sound that I dig.

I like Loss of Control less than EWS, but there really are not any classic VH songs that I can say I hate.

Ths two I dislike the most are "You're Breathin' It" and "Tight" (Private Parts).

I really love Daves version of "The Night Life" though.
Perfect performance!

I like most everything else... with a few exceptions. Counterblast was great too... I like the "tell me tell me tell me tell me!!!!! - are you online?' and his wild indian scream on it.

Wishing the newer stuff had even more of the scream though.

Any opinions of his latest stuff? I haven't purchased the album yet.

Hope this post didn't piss anyone off...

hey, is Dave ever on here?

CLASSIC VAN HALEN never recorded a song I DIDN't LIKE. I believe that EVERY SINGLE SONG, from RWTD to House of Pain, is STELLAR!!!
I ain't bullshittin' you. One of only a HANDFUL of acts I can say that about. Some are just DIFFERENT, and there is a certain element of HUMOR involved, but I dig ALL OF IT!!!!

DAVE OR THE GRAVE BABY!!!
