Hamer Steve Stevens model eh? Is that the one that had the toy ray guy guts built in?

64 Fender Duo Sonic
98 Fender Jimmie Vaughan Tex Mex Strat
02 Agile Ovation copy

Only amp I have right now is a 65 watt Crate practice amp... I sold my 64 Fender Bassman back to it's original owner after 20 years of good use. My old buddy/bass player sold it to me in 83... he got divorced 3 times and decided he wanted his ole sweetheart back... how could I refuse.

his may have. regular models didn't. i think the raygun was mostly a Lexicon box, maybe an Eventide, but now he uses a toy gun and holds it up to the pickup. i've seen a cool SS1 in screamin' yellow that had LED's in the fingerboard.

I recently bought a brand new les paul copy and the fucking thing will not stay in tune worth a fuck.

If you tune to an open chord then barre chords are out of tune and vice versa.

Any ideas?

i'd take it back and tell 'em you want it setup. who knows how many snot-nosed kids beat on it before you bought it.

Mr Badguy

It holds it`s tuning better when you detune to Eb.

Still not perfect, though.

Maybe I`ll try restringing it.

i dunno. if you bought a car or a computer or something else and it didn't work right, would you sit there and fuck with it? probably not. if it's brand new, i expect it to work right outta the box. if it doesn't, back it goes.

That sounds like the intonation/neck is out. A $45 setup at your local guitar shop should fix it. Otherwise you will need a new neck. What brand is it ?

Guarantee to rigid them shitty laminated bodies to the neck, unless you got VibratoNECK™ - in which case, enjoy the wonders of a neck made of the finest mahogany the Phillipines Cratebox and Pallet industry is known for.

I got ripped off badly by some fucking Mormon cunts - so my practic rig is now:

1989 Charvel/Jackson pointy-head neck on 1978 Charvel Explorer butterscotch body solid ash, gold hdwr, tele controls top-routed, ABR-1 Les Paul bridge and tailpiece, Schaller M1 Mini gold tuners w/vintage Gibson humbuckers

1965 Gulbransen, 1958 Hammond M-100 (chopped) with 2 chintzey Leslie rotarys I don't dig.. and some digital piece of crap controller keyboard with crappy presets I can't fucking figger out to get a decent Rhodes sound.. may sell it, but I like the vibes setting.

Sorry Mr BG, I dont think Ive seen this brand before. I hope its just a setup you need. Some guys on here do the setups themselves, I know that Elvis is a setup legend.

Don't bother with the strings...Take this thing back! two is right. If you just got it, let the manufacturer deal with it. You never know...getting a setup MAY void your warranty, so just get your money back. Epiphone Les Pauls are usually quite reliable and inexpensive.

Yeah I agree, if its under warranty ! Take it back.

Hey SactoFan, do you own an Epiphone Les Paul ? If yes, how do you find it compared to the real deal. I dont know if I was imagining it or not, but they seem lighter than the "real"
ones, (Which I quite like) I would be interested to know how they compare in tone. Ive seen some very cheap here in Oz, and being manufactured by Gibson, its quite tempting to buy one.

I don't own one, but I have friends who do. I have played several Epi LP's and they appear to be very consistent in quality. They are pretty solid instruments, and for the money, look to be a wise guitar purchase...

Grimes has an Epi Les Paul. i've noodled around on it, it's not too bad. that Epi is heavy though.

Encore is (normally) quite a relaible brand here in the UK.

They make cheaper guitars for one of the bigger companies, I can`t remember who, much like Squire make for Fender etc.

I think I will take it back.

I'm looking for a new amp as well. While I'm not usually to hip on newer Marshalls, a friend of mine has a Triple Super Lead (100 watter) that I was taken back by when I heard it. I might have to mosey down to the store and buy one of those bitches.
