Van Halen is one of the last great rock & roll bands of the 70's who made it on their music, their shows, their image & their attitude alone before MTV as well as being one of the last great rock & roll bands who were important & influential with a " huge impact " on the rock scene when VH exploded like an atomic bomb back in 78 giving rock & roll a good kick in the ass at the time. Eddie Van Halen is one of the last great guitar heroes in rock & roll without a doubt with his guitar virtuosity which is " unequalled " after other legendary rock guitarists before him like Jimi Hendrix. Eric Clapton & Jimmy Page because even though Steve Vai & Joe Satriani are great 80's rock guitarists in their own right their impact is only minimal after EVH which needs no explanation. David Lee Roth is one of the last great frontmen in rock without a doubt with his flamboyant showmanship & bad ass attitude which has " never " been surpassed since along with other great frontmen in rock before him like Mick Jagger, Roger Daltrey, Jim Morrison, Robert Plant & Steven Tyler because after DLR you have had lame frontmen like Vince Neil, Stephen Pearcy, Jon Bon Jovi & Bret Michaels which needs no explanation. Those first six important & influential classic rock albums VH recorded & released when they were the kings of rock with few equals from Van Halen to 1984 which will always be " timeless " showcase this legendary rock band at their finest because they are creatively, musically & artistically hard rockin, kick ass gems joining other classic rock albums by other legendary rock bands of equal stature like the Beatles, the Stones, the Who, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Aerosmith, KISS & AC/DC with generations & generations of rock fans listening to them no matter how dated they sound these days but it's " true " that Eddie & Dave were the Page/Plant of their time.
