I thought his cover was amazing...but that's just me. His cover of that got me into Jimmy Buffett a little bit.

Dave did great. Everytime I play it for someone they can't believe it's Roth. He had the Angel Eyes vibe.

The song should've made a cut on a CD. It was good work.

What about the song :- "It's love time"

Who originally sang that?
I thought it sounded good and would have been on the Diamond Dave album along with Tin Cup Chalice

Hey Roth Fans!
I have a Buffett radio program...I think David Lee Roth is the man!
I'd like to have him as a guest on my show, that's for sure!

Ironic how his Cheddarness tries to imitate Jimmy Buffet's vibe for years and fails miserably, and Dave nails it in one take.

I wanna back to the island
Where the shrimp boats tie up to the pilin
Gimme oysters and beer
For dinner every day of the year and Ill feel fine
Ill feel fine

Chorus:
I wanna be there
Wanna go back down and lie beside the sea there
With a tin cup for a chalice, fill it up with good red wine
And Im a chewin on a honeysuckle vine

Yeah now, the sun goes slidin cross the water
Sailboats they go searchin for the breeze
Salt air it aint thin
It can stick right to your skin and make you feel fine
Makes you feel fine

Chorus:
I wanna be there
Wanna go back down and a get high by the sea there
With a tin cup for a chalice, fill it up with good red wine
And Im a chewin on a honeysuckle vine

Yes and now you heard my strange proposal
So get that packard up and lets move
I wanna be there before the day
Tries to steal away and leave us behind
Ive made up my mind

Chorus:
And I wanna be there
I wanna go back down and die beside the sea there
With a tin cup for a chalice, fill it up with good red wine
And Im a chewin on a honeysuckle vine

Coda:
Yeah with a tin cup for a chalice, fill it up with good red wine
And Im a chewin on a honeysuckle vine
