At the 1996 MTV debacle - VH walked onto the stage to "Running With the Devil". At the time, I thought "oh shit, why'd they pick THAT" and then tried to think of something that worked better. I couldn't.

"Runnin`.." or "Unchained" because those two are my favourite favourites.
01-06-2004, 05:10 PM
But EWS and HFT are up there.

You know, I'm offended this thread is titled Ultimate CLASSIC VH tune.
Dude, there's only one VH.
I mean, is anyone here really going to put Come on Baby Finish What Cha Started?

I can't pick a favorite....it changes constantly.

I remember arguing about this with a friend that's a really good guitar player one night, and it got pretty heated to say the least.I was like,"it's fucking subjective, take it easy" at first and then just decided to say "hang em' high" over and over just to piss him off.Haha,I think he called me a "diver down faggot" or something and I went and grabbed one of his venom cd's and accused him of being intellectually bankrupt.I'll stick by the "it's all subjective" thing and strongly discourage self-medicating before discussing it like two adults.

My favorite song off Fair Warning.
Would have like to see Hagar try to sing that one!

Great track that nobody else seems to ever mention.
01-22-2004, 08:39 PM

Everybody Wants Some....this ballsy, blistering rock classic is what VH is all about.

this is so below-the-belt foul play Sweet Irony, making us all pick the "ultimate" CVH tune..I mean CVH itself is the ULTIMATE in heavy rock for me, and now i gotta pick out a personal favourite out of the entire catalog of priceless gems..ok..so i m gonna pick Sinner's Swing as the one ultimate tune that springs to my mind instantly..i love that song hugely..
ultimate what, ultimate dull tune? jump. i don't like it.
05-31-2006, 08:24 PM
I never liked Jump...
06-01-2006, 01:31 AM
Nobody wants to come out and say it......
But I'm the One is VH's all around best track. Period.
Doesn't have to be your favorite per se.......
06-02-2006, 02:52 AM
Im going to wait until Ive heard them all ;)
06-05-2006, 07:42 PM
just impossible to pick just one but wait ... Ain't Talkin 'Bout Love ... for me just a timeless song . Cant get enough of it ...
06-15-2006, 05:39 AM
Somebody get me a doctor, HFT... Fuck there's so many!
06-15-2006, 05:44 AM
But I suppose the ultimate classic is one that the non-fans know and like, so I suppose that makes it either

Atomic punk for sure
06-18-2006, 09:15 PM
Ain't Talkin' Bout Love made me want to play guitar.
Maybe Happy Trails or Big Bad Bill. Because it was that attitude that set them apart from all the other rockers. They were willing to just have fun and not be so goddam tough guy hard rock musicians. They were smiling when everyone else was scowling.

me and my mate had a good discussion over this and i came to the conclusion that it is Unchained
but for the ultimate song i suppose its gotta be Jump really, everybody knows that opening, even my granny!

Not now, no.
Im going with Light Up the Sky, but Dreams is a short distance behind.

Little Dreamer is probably the best CVH song in terms of melody, the solo could've been better, but I say that about the Unchained solo too,
I wouldnt call Little Dreamer the ULTIMATE tune though, its good but no that good.
Ehm..HFT does define what they are all about in a way..BUT GODDAMN DOESNT THE 1984 ALBUM LEAVE YOU THINKING , "Fuck, Imagine What They Would've Done Next!"
