I think it would be a better idea to file behind the block with a flat rasp file, at an angle instead of a straight routing.

You have to think about how much meat you take away from the bridge screws.

Not taking anything away from the post seats, just the block travel, at an angle - and have considered using a rasp.

Thanks. That's the KnE body, the Musikraft body I have looks (even more) awesome, gonna do a "natural" with that one. Probably with a reverse headstock and an Ebony fretboard to be my Koa Strat's evil twin...

I'm trying to avoid getting it "filthy"...that's what happened with the Koa Strat, the "test-fit" phase lasted a year...the guy that finished it said it was a bitch getting all the gunk off...

In the bag are the noiseless springs and stainless steel screws for the saddle locks'n'blocks, block mount & the nut clamp.

Also in the shot, Graph Tech saddles and a Brass "L" Big Block which had to be sent back.
Damn thing wasn't compatible with southpaws...

OK, here's a question for ya Coyote : Have you had any issue with your Graph Tech saddles? I had a saddle snap like a twig, before I even got a string in it...thinking I got a defective batch, it was TOO fragile (barely touched it with the wrench *snap* )...I put the old saddles back on for now...sucks, I was really interested in them.

Most of your posts are unconstructive and unfortunate. But the saddle thing is indeed unfortunate. As for constructive, we both used (or in my case tried to) the GT saddles, now I'm asking about his (not repeat, not your imaginary) experience with his.

I emailed Graph Tech about a return-policy on second-hand parts, posing as you.

They said used parts aren't covered under warranty.. sorry.

Maybe this will provide an opportunity to try the Platinanium saddles: I hear they got tone for DAYS

Looking into it myself, since I think the Natural build is going to be Tung oiled.... supposedly cleans up with soap and water, but apparently the oil needs to be re-applied every few years...

Gotta love excellent customer service.

Oh, btw - heard back from Graph Tech regarding the broken saddle, they said the breakage I encountered is NOT a normal occurrence, and to give them a call. Just got off the phone with them, and they're sending me a replacement.

Their rep also indicated if it turns out it's not just the one saddle that's defective and another breaks, let them know, they'll take care of it. Nice.
