Phil has worn a wig for decades.

When he and Ronnie (of the Ronnettes fame) were married, it was understood that when they were turning in for the night, he would turn the lights off, and she was to close her eyes immediately and not open them again until he gave her permission in the morning.

Why? Ronnie suspects it had something to do with him taking off and putting back on his wig. But she was too afraid of him to ever confirm this.

(she had a book out years ago - I would imagine she woke up plenty, but that she was STILL too terrified of the guy to say so publicly)

That being said, with this wig (and that shirt - what's up with those buttons???), Phil looks like he might be going for the insanity defense.

And Steve Miller looks like he could be Phil's lawyer.

Phil has always been deranged.

I think he started brandished a pistol in the studio during some of the Lennon sessions in the early 70's.

I know Brian Wilson was paranoid of Phil around '66-'67. Now that this has all happened, it makes sense.

Steve looks so serious in that pic. But, I saw his show about 5 years ago and he was rockin out. He looks like he's aged 10 years in the last 5 though.

I'm going to try to check him out when he comes through this year.
