VH on WKRP
WKRP in Cincinnati was the first TV show to feature the music of Van Halen - Oct. 6, 2020
"When WKRP in Cincinnati dropped the needle on "Atomic Punk" in October 1978, the debut album Van Halen
was merely months old. The track was the B-side to the band's first single, a cover of the Kinks' "You Really
Got Me," released in January 1978. So, really, "Atomic Punk" was the first piece of original music released by
Van Halen. It was the first time headbangers heard the jaw-dropping guitar skills of Eddie Van Halen."

That MeTV. That shit is evil. EVIL I cannot begin to count how many times I've smoked weed to Perry Mason, Hogan's Heroes, Columbo, and even Green Acres. MeTV is not television nostalgia, it's predictive programming. I will admit Perry Mason on weed is a bit of a mindfuck because the writers back then knew how to plan a plot twist to where the character you think had the motive to murder did - only the wrong motive. WKRP was ahead of its time. Tackled social issues that would be considered "offensive" in this political climate. Now with greedy music lawyers WKRP ran into legal issues with syndication.
