Nice !!!!!! :)
Donning the tour shoes and the Christmas light hanging sweats. I'm beginning to think this guy's as frugal and unconcerned with clothes as I am.
Don't know about you, but it makes me feel good seeing EVH happy and healthy. We had too damn many years where he only smiled because he was loaded. Now enough sightseeing. Time to get back to work, Ed.
That's one more thing I learned about Ed in Sam's book that actually endeared me to him. Shit bag Hagar wrote some dreck about how he wined and dined in fancy restaurants throughout much of his career. When he met the Ed at his house for the first time, he was shocked to see this genius whip open the freezer (broken handle and all) take out microwave hot dogs, nuke'em, shove them in his mouth and said, "let's go" (to the studio I presume). Sam tried to make the point almost as if the trait of being down to Earth was beneath him. Backfire Bette.
I do think EVH is truly happy with life now. After being in a stuper for 25-30 years of his life , things do clear up after a few years of being clean. Take it from me I know....
3-1/2 years clean
Cool... Ed is embracing his legacy rather than running and hiding from it.
Just one word now... Vault!! Might as well Vault... go ahead and Vault!!
On a side note why is that Franky a 12 string??
I believe the strings are actually a series of neon lights that light up in a series in two different colors. You'll note the headstock only has 6 tuners.
Zah's right - the two colors referencing the strings being strummed.

That's a thing of beauty.
I don't think it's all that...
It's a day late and a dollar short just like everything VH related, these days..
So, you and Kristy get along?
I just hope Ed realizes just how much those stripes and that band - with Dave out front - means to a whole hell of a lot of us...
I wonder if Sammy's tried to piss on it yet :gulp:

I'd say 'better late than never' applies. Besides, you don't get a commemorative sculpture during your hey day.
Yeah, but dude...
The Van Halen legacy doesn't ride on some silly patented guitar stripes that even EVH himself doesn't doesn't utilize these days...
It's the music...
More specifically, the music he made with David Lee Roth...
Do you see that anywhere ??
:elvis:
Hmmm...
It's an icon. To me, it represents the band as well as the guy who played the guitar. When I see a picture of a 5 neck guitar with a checkered paint job, I think of both Rick and Cheap Trick.
Hey... once a gear head, always a gear head!!!
At least I didn't go totally bonsai cork-sniffer and rag about it having a rosewood neck when franky only sported maple... the bridge pickup placement and angle is incorrect... the bridge is all wrong... it's missing the 3 pick-up body routing as well as the pickup selector switch embedded in the middle pickup routing. The tone knob is correct but was white not black and didn't go to 11... only 10. There were only 3 screws holding on the partial pick guard not 5... Plus the quarter is missing 3 additional drill holes... But who's being picky... ;)
I can only guess Ed and his intellectual property lawyers let the use of the stripes slide or he got licensing fees for it.
It does look good lit up though...
