Recreating The "Van Halen Snare Sound"

I'm not a big fan of AVH's snare drum sound. It always sounded kind of "thoop" "thoop" "thoop". It's ok, I just don't think AVH's snare sound is a big deal.

Yeah I was surprised at all the love for it.
