i have all the Satellites' discs up to In The Land of Salvation and Sin, if those came out after i wouldn't be familiar with it. i can do some digging though.
the second one is called The Race Is On. i found versions by Sawyer Brown and the Grateful Dead.
the first one is Long Black Veil, originally a Springsteen song.
does this mean i get a copy of the DVD? :D

The Satellites were DEFINITELY an under-appreciated band. Too bad their first single "Keep your Hands To Yourself" was a goofy novelty (along with the video). As far as the public was concerned, that's all they were, when in fact they had a killer guitarist, solid songs - "Battleship Chains", "Another Chance" - and interpreted covers to KILL - "Rockin' All Over the World", "Don't Pass Me By".
Battleship Chains is a cover, too.

Is this the Long Black Veil tune y'all talkin'? It says written by Wilkin/Dill...I've always associated the tune with Johnny Cash...Chris Robinson sang a great version of it with his jamband Foamfoot...

That "I love you period" song is the dumbest shit of all time!
that's what's so good about it...such a simple, stupid idea, but it works.
