Rescue Me - 1987

Presence of Love - 1987
Note to Van Hagar and the hair bands - it is possible to write a "love song" without drowning it in Velveeta

Spirit of 76 - 1985
Yeah, it was about a revolution, but not THAT one....

Rain In The Summertime - 1987
No, they weren't a Seattle band, honest........
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GX-cuV82Xo8
"Unsafe Building" - 1990
The last single by the Original Alarm lineup, and a remake of a song they originally recorded a decade earlier
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wuewhmCm390
The Chant Has Just Begun - 1985
One of the more obscure Alarm singles. Blame the record company.... they thought the band would hit it big with a "Duran Duran like dance tune". Some experiments are best left in the laboratory.......
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3YdwU4VyN7c
Sold Me Down The River - 1988
Should have been used as an anti NAFTA song in the 1992 presidential campaign.....
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0WbmawihyDw
Knockin On Heaven's Door - 1985
"This is a song I taught Bono how to play......"

...take this song of freedom, put it on and arm yourself for the fight......
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RVVITxhJ3Vs
Third Light/Across The Border - Live 1984
A couple songs that show how little some have learned about war over the last 20 years :(
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oifc7NUOOVI
Absolute Reality - 1985
You may have love.. you may have hate.... you may be the pResident of the United States....but then you would be a dumb fucking Chimp......

Superchannel - 2006
This is the current single from Mike Peters' "New Alarm" lineup. Usually I'm skeptical and with good reason when one remaining member holds on to a band name, but this new material sounds great. Now if only I can actually find the album anywhere in this country.......

Be Still - 2006
Another new song. Damn, I need this album.....
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=erp86MbOggQ
45 RPM - 2005
The Alarm released this single last year under the false name "The Poppyfields" after an argument with their record label over the viability of a 20 year old band having a hit single.
Of course the song WAS a hit, and then the band revealed themselves in this video, appearing along with the "band" they had hired to be the "milli vanillis" in their publicity stunt. Damn great way to have a laugh at the corporatists expense, if you ask me ;)

Without A Fight - 2006
Although the lyrics don't mention it specifically, this song may have been inspired by Mike Peters' own recent battle with Leukemia in recent years. He's now in complete remission, thank God. :)
I've never quite figured out why this band gets so much love. I never hated them. Never loved them. Much like Radiohead.
I dug them.. Eye of the Hurricane is a grate album..

Thanks for all the links, The Alarm is a cool band....
FORD...if I recall you sub to XM.
Today.....
Surface Noise: The Alarm
Fred - XM 44
Noon ET
Mike Peters and the newly revived Alarm stop by XM 44 Fred in New York City for a very special Surface Noise, with host Bill Kates. Hear fresh, exclusive acoustic versions of the best of The Alarm, brand new Alarm music from their most recent album Under Attack, and some deep Fred favorites hand picked by the band just for Fred on 44.
Shit. I totally missed it. Guess I'll have to catch a repeat. XM usually runs something like that a few times. "Fred" is a decent channel, but I probably listen to "Fungus 53" more, for the good old Punk Rock. But if Fred's playing The Alarm, I might change my mind.Quote:

I saw The Alarm open for U2 at a Jai Alai arena in Orlando.
THAT was one of the best shows I've ever seen.
One of the best double-bills in rock history, no doubt :cool:Quote:
