Hi, new here, old timer fan. My friend Rusty's band Eulogy opened for them loads in the 70s, which is how I got the intro. Saw them loads with Dave here in California, at Donnington and in Holland. DLR solo here, Oslo and Rotterdam. Never, ever saw them sans DLR.

I saw CVH just once, in 1984 in Karlsruhe, Germany, on the Monsters of Rock festival. I didn’t like VH much at this time, which had nothing to do with the music, I liked that but…

I had a boyfriend at the time that was totally in to EvH and he spent more time listening to the albums, practicing on his guitar and with his band then he spent on me. I resented Ed for that because he always came first, of course the poor guy couldn’t help that but I was 17 at the time and just needed someone to be pissed at. I went with the boyfriend to Monsters of Rock prepared to hold his hand because he thought he was going to faint seeing Ed live on stage. The moment Dave and VH came one to the stage my life changed. I was blown away, totally in awe, there is no way to describe it, I elbowed my way to the front of the stage and had the time of my life. Back in Holland after this I ditched the boyfriend and bought the six-pack, the rest is history…

Needless to say I’ve been to every concert Dave did in Holland since (and none of the Van Hagar shows). Sadly Dave has not been in Holland since 1999, I really hope they do Europe this time!!!!

Saw Korn a few months ago not a big fan of them only went to see Ray and the tix were free. Ray is a monster.
Always liked his style, one of my top 3 favorite drummers.

Seen Dave on the EEAS 86 tour. And 2001 Tour.
    Van Halen, 1984, 2008
Van Hagar 1991,1995,2004. All the shows were in Omaha, NE.

Did see Van Hagar in L.A. (Forum) and in Costa Mesa Calif. in 92. Was on Vacation buddy got free tix. Forum show was during the L.A. riots. Fucking forum is in south central L.A. if nobody knew. Little nerve racking, drinking beer in the parking lot. I remember laughing seeing a bunch of brothers hanging out in front of a Sizzler across the street. Nobody hasseled us though.

Thanks! "Stall Rest" because I severely dislocated my knee over Thanksgiving, ripped ACL, LCL and PCL off the bone and needed 2 surgeries to fix. Ugh.

Hoping to be with a cane and the very most by the Anaheim show, but my guess is still on crutches.

    Love this board <3

Howdy all, first timer in here. I'm a young buck, so sadly I was nothing more than an itch in my father's testicles when CVH ended, but I was fortunate enough to see the 2007 Roth reunion in Calgary.

    Round 11 coming up

I have seen Van Halen and or David Lee Roth at least 10 times and I have my tickets for the March 17 show in Toronto. My first show was in 1982 and it was awesome, raedy for some more. I will be going with some high school friends again. Everytime Van Halen comes to town we get the crew back together and unite for another awesome show. I will be taking my 12 year old son to the show for his first concert and am sure it will create a monster.

I saw them once with Hagar in 92 and the Boston reunion show in 07. No comparison. Boston with the set-list and the overall power was a dream come true. Love this band.

I will be going with some high school friends again. Everytime Van Halen comes to town we get the crew back together and unite for another awesome show. I will be taking my 12 year old son to the show for his first concert and am sure it will create a monster.
Make sure you check the Toronto concert thread to get details on where all the army folk are meeting up. Don't want to miss that, it's fun .

I saw DLR twice in paris ("skyscraper" and "a lil' ain't enough" tours), and I went to van hagar ("right here right now") also in paris (had to see Ed live once in my life)... seems like the new isn't going to France, open I'll have a chance of seeing them together before I (they ?) die

Since I'm at the tender age of 41 I wasn't quite old enough to see CVH back in the day. BUT I did see every single Dave tour from '86 on. And for everyone who says that you are only a "true" fan if you saw them back in the day...then wouldn't that mean that the only true fans were those who followed the band from their FIRST gigs???

I got int VH in 1981 at ten years of age. My Mom wouldn't take me to a show, out of fear that something "bad would happen." Fast forward five years, she bought me VH tickets....one small problem...no Dave. I went nonetheless afterwards feeling ripped off because I didn't hear "Unchained" etc. I then pleaded with my Mom that we had to see Dave on the EEAS smile tour in Detroit....Dave blew them away. It felt more like VH than VH did. Even at the ripe old age of 15, I knew the whole truth!!!

    I confess....

I wasn't terribly into VH until I saw them live at the 2007 tour and they TORE THE ROOF OFF THE PLACE! Killer show....I became a CVH convert and Roth fan for life!!!! WHOO HOO! :happy64:

Such is the magic of Van Halen with Roth onstage!!

Even though I am a latecomer to the game, the good news is that I missed all the painful Sammy years.......................

Not the Vancouver show. Of course, Wolf was weak, but he held his own.
