I don't know about being the best BBQ in the world, but Abdullah's is pretty good. However, I'd rather have Rendevous or Corky's (both in Memphis, TN) or Dreamland in Tuscaloosa, AL. Any of you that are in the South should go to Memphis the first weekend of May for the Memphis in May BBQ cook off. It's a HUGE competition and worth the fuss of fighting through thousands of people just to sample the BBQ. Most everything there is pork BBQ, which is the most popular BBQ in the Southeastern US. Damn I'm hungry as a motherfucker now.

BTW, the sports tie in is Dreamland ribs....something you HAVE to eat before a Crimson Tide football game, and it is handy since it is in Tuscaloosa.

It's an art form for sure. My personal favorite is The Twin Oaks Drive In down in Brunswick Ga. They have an old school pit complete with a water hose and a "Where's the Beef? We don't know." sign out front.

Locally, the original "Harolds" by the penitentiary here is pretty consistent with cracklin' cornbread and cops at the counter (for good reason).

Abby's is pretty good, especially the smoked chicken. Best in the world? That's debatable, but I ain't gonna argue with the man.
