the Barons are playing this year. there was a blurb in the paper about some NHL guys who had "two way" NHL/AHL contracts but i don't think there were a lot of big name guys.

I believe the minors may be playing, I know our local team here is in camp.
And this strike will be much different than the other sports I think.
As much as I enjoy the game, it just isn't a big deal to most in the USA.
Look at baseball...America's Pasttime...and three things happened that kept baseball going...
1. Baseball ended the strike before the possibility of missing a second season...
2. Cal Ripken's breaking of the streak...brought some interest to the game...
3. Big Mac against Sosa...
and even now...some fans haven't come back...
What's going to happen is the mid and small market NHL teams WILL FOLD...there's no way they won't...obviously the Canadian Market can't handle it...so who knows...what the fuck will happen...
