Has Anybody Else Ever Noticed This?

On the Great White album "Shot in the Dark", side 2, second song to the last, there's a track called "Run Away". Now, is it just me, or does this song bare more than just a few similar features to "Girl Gone Bad"? I mean, they're stylistically different, but the vibe, the flow, the changes, even the lyrics...too many similarities to just be total coincidence, I think.

    Any takes?

I never actually said I like Great White...I just wondered if anybody else had noticed it. Why would I listen to Great White? Probably because my music collection is EXTREMELY massive and I have shit in there I don't even know I have...just happened to throw it on and found it on a whim, wondered if anybody else had...and no, I'm not about to start picking apart Bananarama...

Jesus, just a simple question. Calm the hell down!

Dude if you have a Dread Zeppelin album in that collection then you're cool in my book.

Poor Bueno Bob can't get a break, eh?

What popular song did they do? Rock Me? right? Or was that by Slaughter?

I try like hell to keep things all fluffy bunnies and pink daisies. But brutal truth smacks me in the ass all the time.

Uh, let's see...actual HITS they had were...

Rock Me, Lady Red Light, Once Bitten Twice Shy, House of Broken Love, Old Rose Motel, Face the Day, Sail Away, Save Your Love, Big Goodbye, and All Over Now...those are what I can actually recall hearing on the radio making extended replays from day to day over the years...

I also considered Great White to be a small step above Kingdom Come (Clone). I did see them in concert once though...they opened for Whitesnake...talk about a Led Zeppelin rip off band overload.

Brownsound1 they started out as a Zeppelin tribute band before they decided to do originals.(trivia)
I know what your talking about Bob.It's the intro and chorus music right? I thought great white and shot in the dark were good albums.I had a buddy who listened to them alot so I got used to it.

I will admit that I was a Great White fan, yet never noticed the similarity. If it was 1989 again, Im sure many of us here could or did like them but won't admit it. They had a EP of covers in the early 90's which was pretty good. They did some Zeppelin tunes and I think they even did the Who's substitute. I saw them live a few time when they were still popular. The hot blond chick on the covers of Once Bittenand Twice Shy was Jack Russell's girlfriend for a while. It's amazing the quality of ass you can pull if your ugly and ina band.

    Finally got to it.
I moved a month ago and just got to my old cassettes.

Yes...you can certainly hear the similarities in the intro...the flow is very similar.

Yep... in fact their guitarist is still burning

But it's good to hear that they actually ripped off someone other than Zeppelin and Mott the Hoople.

In high school my girlfriend at the time would get all mushy over "Save all your love"....I owe Great White for that one.
