I've never heard of it. Where did you find this? Is it official?

I am a HUGE Hendrix fan. Can you tell me what's on this, DG?

Well the street date is not until the 23rd. (I thought it would be cool if it was released on his birthda, the 27t, but whatever...)

Anyway, I heard on the radio that some copies have leaked out already.

Jimi Hendrix - The Last 24 Hours

    From: Music Video Distibutors

    For Immediate Release
    October 8, 2004

Jimi Hendrix - The Last 24 Hours

Available on DVD November 23, 2004 Through Music Video Distributors

Oaks, PA- Music Video Distributors and GVMS are pleased to announce the home viewing release of Jimi Hendrix - The Last 24 Hours for North American distribution on DVD.

Offstage Jimi Hendrix was shy and reserved, but onstage he became a towering genius, whose performances and guitar mastery sparked a revolution in both music and fashion. Jimi was just 27 when he died. His death was never easily explained and to this day mystery still surrounds the death of one of the world's greatest rock legends. Here, in Jimi Hendrix - The Last 24 Hours the producers explore and explain the reasons why Jimi's demise became shrouded in rumor, gossip and falsehoods.

The authorities and media quickly dismissed the death of Hendrix as just another drugged rock star casualty; however for the first time, the circumstances leading to Jimi's tragic death can be examined as the producers present new and compelling evidence. Evidence, which may reopen the inquiry into what may have been for certain parties, a convenient death. Viewers will have to decide for themselves just what happened on September 18th 1970 in a small, private hotel situated in the Notting Hill area of London.

The DVD also features contributions from other major music giants, including Jeff Beck, Pete Townsend and Eric Clapton. Bonus features include: The Hendrix Picture Gallery, Discography; Language English: Subtitled in French, German, Dutch, Italian and Spanish. Also included in the package is a 32 Page Color Booklet, featuring rare pictures detailing the life and times of Jimi Hendrix.

Fascinating. Personally, I think Jimi took nine super-strong European sleeping pills and half a bottle of red wine. They didn't mix well and he threw up while comatose and drowned in his own vomit. I still believe that story. But who knows?

Damn tragic, anyway. He was so close to finishing his last album, which came out in parts on albums like CRY OF LOVE and RAINBOW BRIDGE until the estate finally put together the album in a semi-completed form in 1997 (FIRST RAYS OF THE NEW RISING SUN...possible my favorite Jimi album).

David Lee Roth is my favorite frontman in history. But Jimi Hendrix was the best guitar player, bar none. Not even Eddie produced as many innovations or had as much talent as this guy. But you really have to know his stuff and watch the various DVDs out there to realize this. He was simply brilliant. (LOL...and in four short years, he produced as much finished music as Eddie did in 25!!!)

Did you get the ISLE OF WIGHT or JIMI PLAYS BERKELEY DVDs, DG? They are both incredible! And both from the end of his life. Man, he was playing well. And the quality is sensational.

Just a reminder that The Last 24 is out today

Sorry, Rikk, I missed your post from 11/14...I have a friend who has a ton of Hendrix. I have watched many and am not sure, which is which. Each time I see new footage (new to me, I mean), I am more amazed.
