    Covers?

So, if you had the opportunity to give Dave a list of covers you'd like to hear him do, what would be on the list?

    My choices?

All Summer Long - The Beach Boys
I Love the Night - Blue Oyster Cult
    Desperado - Alice Cooper
    Fireball - Deep Purple
Black Water - The Doobie Bros.
    L.A. Woman - The Doors
One of These Nights - The Eagles
Dead Ringer for Love - Meat Loaf (duet with SOMEBODY hot...)
    Roxanne - The Police
Sea Cruise (Oldie but goodie, can't remember who did it originally...)

Just a few ideas I think it'd be cool to hear his voice over...

    Anyone else?

Man, L.A. WOMAN, DESPERADO and ALL SUMMER LONG are great ideas.

    How about:

VAN MORRISON - Jackie Wilson Said
SOUNDGARDEN - Rusty Cage (with a bit of a Johnny Cash feel)
ROLLING STONES - Prodigal Son (actually an old blues tune)
    T.REX - Planet Queen
    JAMES GANG - Funk #49

Huh? There are covers that Dave hasn't already done?

I think Dave has done more covers than originals. Ever notice how half of the songs he did with VH were covers? Whereas 99% if not 100% of the songs Sammy did with VH were originals?

How's about a cover of It's About Time?

In all seriousness, Im surprised Dave hasn't covered a Rolling Stones tune or two.
"FUCK YOU, YOU FUCKIN' BITCH! WHO THE FUCK DO YOU THINK YOU ARE ANYWAYS? TALK TO ME LIKE THAT? FUCK YOU. DRAG QUEEN LOOKIN' WHORE- YOU AINT SHIT. YOUR THE FRECKLE TO THE LEFT OF MY BROWN EYE. NOW GO MAKE YOURSELF USEFUL...OH, PUT DAD ON THE PHONE"

Two which have always struck me as a perfect match are, "L.A. Woman" (i think Bob mentioned it, too) and in a CFTH treatment, Mongo Jerry's "In The Summertime".

    Great song.

Never thought of Dave covering it until now, but I could hear it fitting in right along side several cuts on Diamond Dave...

Along your more bluesy take Diamondsgirl, how about ZZ Top's "Jesus Just Left Chicago"?

I bet you'd about die hearing him cover Mississippi John Hurt's "Candy Man"...

This is the reason I never responded to your blues thread... I would talk all day and never get any work done.

Pure pig ignorance. At least know your subject before attacking it.

Your fag SAMBO spends half his time at his shitty cantina playing old covers (hey, let's cover ZEPPELIN...yeah that's inventive ...i love ZEPPELIN, but can't you be more inventive?).

Dave has recorded almost completely originals during his career. He had a couple of covers on VHI, one on VHII, five on DIVER DOWN, three (I believe) on EAT 'EM AND SMILE, and maybe a couple more plus the COVER ALBUM (get that? a theme?). Dave has recorded more originals than you've had back alley anal rape with another man...and you've had a lot of that shit.

Now get back in the Fucking Pen!!

The only thing Sammy Hagar ever sang on and it didn't really bother me was the first MONTROSE album. That's a good album. But that was 1973.

Since then, he's ruined every album he's sung on. He's simply awful.

And has progressively gotten worse, and worse, and worse over time.

"Sammy The Screech" is what I call him, for good reason.

The Kinks - All Day And All Of The Night
    The Kinks - Paranoia
    The Kinks - Come Dancing

I can pretty much imagine Dave doing any Rock n Roll song, but those 3 'really got me'. Funny though, I'm not particularly a Kinks fan.
