This thread is crazy! I WAS THERE. The show was GREAT! This "Ed going crazy" thing has been blown WAY out of proportion. I can't believe JMJ's post that started this thread. My friends & I were all in the 3rd row and could see everything. The show was great & the band waws having a great time. YES, Ed did beat up his guitar, but we thought that was pretty entertaining! Yeah, it was kinda weird, but kinda funny too. Very rock 'n' roll. We walked away from the show thinking the show was awesome & fun, and I can't believe someone walked away all depressed thinking that Ed hates everybody!
We have great memories of the show. It was awesome. highlights were... ALEX, Mike's solo, Breakfast, Doctor, Sammy's solo ("Tropic of Capricorn" with a great video), the "Doctor" who came out onstage, Kari coming out on stage, Mike's daughter coming out & messing with Mike, Wolfgang playing with the band (not just the solo) & more.
Gotta go now. I'll post more later.

Ed was pissed off when Kari sprayed Sammy w/ whip cream, he was NOT laughing. At the end of the song, he was shaking his head & yelling at people to clean it up. Then, after Mikes solo, when the fat dude came out in the Dr outfit, Ed just looked at him & he was not laughing, he thought it was stupid. Sammy even said, "well Mike, where are we playing tomorrow"? He knew Ed was not happy with the antics. To the guitar breaking, being a Peavey thing, NO WAY! He did this shit during the song, not after the song. How do you explain him acting like he was ramming the guitar into Sammy? Was he a Peavey employee or something? The rest of the band was doing the outro to Right Now, & Ed is going nuts throwing & breaking his shit. He them walks off the stage people, "bye" all the while the 3 others are finishing the fucking song. Sammy should have popped that SOB. Ed is a fucking disgrace, he absolutely ruined what should have been a great evening. Look, I saw night 1 from front row, I thought maybe we would see a new album next year, great show,etc. but Ed is an alcoholic. When he drinks to excess, he seems to be an angry drunk. Who the fuck wants to deal with someone this eratic. At soundcheck Thursday, Ed was pissed the whole time. He was unhappy with the sound, & kept stopping the songs & going off stage to "fuck with my shit". People this guy is a very angry person when he is drunk, he has REAL issues, & you can tell he is not a happy person inside. Sad. EVH drunk = very bad attitude. Wait till more 5 stars start posting. I really hope Sammy spills the beans down the road just how bad EVH has been to him & Mike. Ed does not deserve to have these guys in his band anymore. If any of you have ever dealt with a drunk, you will understand why Ed is the reason this reunion went to shit. He said after his meltdown, "I'm real, people". Yeah, a real ego driven, "rock star" Remember back in the early days, " I'm no rock star, I'm a musician" Well, he has become a rock star. 31 people at soundcheck, someone asked for an autograph, "I can't, then I HAVE to sign for everyone" BS, Mike signed some, but I didn't get my shit signed, no biggie. At least he trys to make the fans happy. Ed & Al do not give a fuck about the fans. My wife thought Al was like a business man last night, play my set, run off the stage & don't have any interaction with said fans. Sammy's comments were spot on people, some people do not care about the fans. I can't believe the "mighty" Van Halens attitude towards us, after still showing up after all the BS they put us through over the years. Try a little harder, that is all anyone wanted, including their FORMER singer........
