    Eddie drunk at Dimebag's funeral

A few buddies who have been there reported me in ICQ Eddie was completely wasted.

    Another confirmation came from Blabbermouth:

"Van Halen shared the stage with guitarist Zakk Wylde, the two downing shots of liquor as they talked about their rock comrade. "

"On the other hand it was also sad to see Eddie Van Halen in the shape he was in. There's a point when being drunk just isn't funny and Eddie Van Halen was at that point tonight"

"He was rude and abnoxious and wouldn't give Zakk Wylde one second to talk. If I was Zakk I would of gave Ed a good sock in the mouth to shut him the hell up"

"The memorial was sweet, but I didnt like the way an obviously distraught Rex was rushed off the stage. But [the city of] Arlington does have curfew laws and they couldn't very well rush Eddie fucking Van Halen offstage"

"Eddie Van Halen was there and so was Zakk Wylde and they were both pretty buzzed from drinking".

    Another guy says:

"When Eddie came out and stole the thunder from what was beggining to be a very good tribute from Zakk, it was really obnoxious. It almost seemed like Eddie realized that the world may not be revolving around him for a few minutes and he had to fix that. It broke out into almost an Abbott and Costello routine between he and Zakk. There were a few times I thought Zakk was going to kick Eddie's ass. He didn't seem entirely amused by the whole thing.

I think the point being made about Eddie realizing the world didn't revolve around him and him trying to get it back on track was a good one. Eddie at this point is more of a Joke than the idea Sammy Hagar was a good replacement for David Lee Roth
    Seshmeister is such a STUD.........OOOOOOOOOO

Kurt Cobain was a fucking junkie, I don't think that means everybody's supposed to publicly shot up heroin at his fucking funeral.

Here's a junkie smurf who attended Kurt Cobain's funeral.

Kurt liked hard dope. So it was normal at his funeral to be junkies and shot up heroin.

Dimebag was an heavy drinker. It's normal Eddie was completely wasted out of his mind when he honoured Dime's passing. Eddie actually thought he was at a Wal-Mart's toilet, where he honoured Jimmy Page's passing last week. Jimmy Page isn't dead? Exactly.

At my funeral, everybody knew I was a pornstar. So everybody got hard, the chicksgot wet, and started fucking, a big fucking orgy to honour my passing.

Please, give VanRoth the golden Mongoloid of 2004.

Alcohol and drugs don't help solving problems. Expecially those like this that can't be solved.

WHY DOES THIS HAVE TO BE TURNED INTO A FUCKIN CIRCUS.
Because it is! Have you ever attended the funeral of a relative of yours and shown up completely wasted out of your brains? Do you think that's respectful?

OMG! Ed was DRUNK??? Geeze thats odd considering he is an ALCHOLIC!!! Guess what, when your an alcoholic 9 times out of 10 you'll be intoxicated! Why is it that we have to mention it everytime he is seen in public?

As for being drunk at funerals... It happend! Hell in Ireland the wakes are just another reason to tie one on.

Thousands Gather To Mourn Dimebag Darrell
    12.15.2004 9:49 AM EST

Several thousand fans and friends gathered at the Arlington Convention Center in Arlington, Texas, Tuesday night to mourn Damageplan/ Pantera guitarist "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott.

The inside of the cavernous convention center was filled with
flowers and oversized magazine covers featuring Abbott, according to The Dallas Morning News. Among the musicians on hand to pay tribute were guitarists Zakk Wylde and Eddie Van Halen.

"I'm here for the same reason as everyone else, to give some love back," said Van Halen, who, along with Wylde, reportedly downed shots of booze as he spoke.

"This guy was full of life. He lived and breathed rock and roll." Van Halen held his cell phone up to the microphone and played a profanity-laced message left by an excited Abbott after a concert he played with Van Halen.

"I just wanted to give you a ... call to tell you thank you so ... much, man, for the most awesome, uplifting, euphoric, spiritual rock and roll extravaganza ever," Abbott said in the message to Van Halen, according to reports.

"A whole part of my life is gone," said Wylde, described as red-eyed and visibly upset.

Former Alice in Chains guitarist Jerry Cantrell was among the performers at the event, which also featured tributes from Abbott's ex-Pantera bandmate Rex Brown and the guitarist's brother, Damageplan/ Pantera drummer Vinnie Paul.

Paul took the stage, patted a cardboard cut-out of his brother holding a guitar and encouraged the fans to yell "Dimebag!," according to an Associated Press report. He told the crowd that Abbott gave it his all during every show and "went down" doing what he loved.

A private funeral for Abbott — who was among four people shot and killed during a Damageplan concert at the Alrosa Villa in Columbus, Ohio, on December 8 (see "Dimebag Darrell, Four Others Killed In Ohio Concert Shooting") — was held earlier in the day; Cantrell also reportedly performed at the funeral. Much as they did at a vigil outside Alrosa Villa, fans gathered in the parking lot of the convention center before the memorial to drink beer and crank out Pantera and Damageplan tunes, according to the Morning News report.

"Let us remember his happiness," Nick Bowcott, former guitarist with the metal band Grim Reaper, told the crowd. "He never lost sight of where he came from. He started as a fan, and he was always a fan." The ceremony also featured screenings of music videos and home movies.

Former Pantera vocalist Phil Anselmo — who publicly feuded with Abbott for the past few years and is featured on the cover of the latest issue of Metal Hammer saying that Darrell should be "severely beaten" in an interview conducted before the guitarist's murder — was reportedly barred from the service. Other attendees included former Alice in Chains bassist Mike Inez, ex-Fear Factory guitarist Dino Cazares and Slipknot members Jim Root, Corey Taylor and Paul Gray.

GW: These last few months have been difficult for the band.
Eddie:Yeah, the last three months have been a full plate-and a few desserts I didn't plan on ordering. There had been a variety of conflicts brewing between Sammy and the band since I quit drinking on October 2,1994. Then things really came to a head when we began work on the soundtrack to the movie Twister. It got so bad that I actually started drinking again.

Eddie:I said, "Sammy, if you're not here at the studio by six o' clock tomorrow, don't ever bother coming back." The next day, he showed up like nothing had ever happened-like he hadn't yelled and screamed at me. Did he think I was some idiot who didn't remember what had happened the night before? I'm sober now, dude.

Yeah ... according to that part of Sammy's autobiography that got posted here some time ago, that's a complete lie from Eddie, and that he never was sober. Probably the only instance I can think of where Sammy was actually right about something.

    THE DIFFERENCE IS...........

The difference is that DLR would not show up stinking drunk at somebody's funeral in front of the deceased person's family. No way, no how.
    DLR/VH IS JUST BETTER

Zakk is a fucking stupid drunk. Everybody knows he's usually already wasted by noon. His shitty records prove the rumour right.

However, this is not a Zakk Wylde board so we don't need to talk shit about him. Not only he hasn't anything to do with Van Halen, but with Diamond Dave neither.

Every funeral/wake I`ve ever been to involved some level of alcohol consumption. People grieve in many different ways. For some, getting loaded is simply the only way they can deal.

Who the fuck are you to question what folks mention here? We'll talk shit about Ed any fucking day of the week. Just like he talks shit about Dave.
You're at the Roth Army. And most of us are pretty fucking pissed off at Ed right now, and rightfully so.
