GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (AP) -- An arrest warrant was issued for two-time world champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. after he failed to attend his trial for kicking a bouncer at a bar.

The 27-year-old boxer was scheduled to be in court for a misdemeanor assault and battery charge. When he didn't show up, a bench warrant was issued, a court clerk said Friday.

If convicted, Mayweather could be sentenced to up to 93 days in jail.

William Morris, a part-time bouncer at The Radio Tavern, told police he was knocked to the floor of the bar on Dec. 18, 2003, and someone broke a bottle over his head.

While he was down, Mayweather kicked him, Morris said.

In June, Mayweather was convicted of misdemeanor battery stemming from a fight in August 2003 with two women inside a Las Vegas nightclub. Mayweather grew up in Grand Rapids but now lives and trains in Las Vegas.

Mayweather is scheduled to fight Jan. 22 in Miami against Henry Bruseles of Puerto Rico in a 140-pound elimination bout.
