    Juan Gonzalez finalized a minor-league contract with the Indians on Tuesday that includes an invitation to the team's spring training. The contract will be worth $600,000 if he makes the team and $15,000 a month if he is in the minor-leagues but Gonzalez has the option to be released on February 20 if he is not on the major-league roster.

    Views

    The 35-year old Gonzalez's health is the biggest concern surrounding him as he has played in only 185 games over the last three seasons. We will track his performance this spring to see if he is worth taking a flyer on in your draft.

    I look at it in the Tribe's point of view....

    Why not take a chance ?? 600 grand if he makes the team, and if they really luck out, he has the chance to really contribute....

    Up and coming is fine...they had up and coming in 1992 and 3...but couldn't do anything until they could infuse with QUALITY older players like El Presidente, Orel Hershiser and Eddie Murray...

    Now they go after Millwood for 7 mil...and that fucking bastard JuanGone...

    it's not really a gamble at 600 grand...but christ...

    now...I don't know...we aren't exactly getting a presence in the clubhouse...
