So all this talk here got looking and I got a copy of this "20th anniversary" DVD. There is no way this is close to a first gen copy. And, as I suspected, YRGM/HT is just edited on from the showtime special.fletch created the best version aka "20 anniversary edition" but it's still not clear.
I remember he said he got the 1st gen copy of that show, but I'm sure the DVD is not from that.
The misleading part is that the disk contains "bonus material" including the "TV Edit" of YRGM/HT - which is what is edited into the "full" concert, so it is not really "bonus", just redundant. Beyond that even the Showtime (TV edit) stuff is also not close to first generation. On the whole the DVD is well put together except quality is not the greatest...and for many it will for sure be better than nothing. The MTV footage is also several generations down - looks even more so than the concert is.
Still waiting for whoever has the "real" first, or even second, generation of the show to put it out, or to transfer it to DVD.
