Having been born in 1979 and the Steelers won thier last SB in 1980, I was really hoping they could pull this off in my lifetime. It sooooo sad to see them lose like this after such a great season.
Its going to be a quiet night in Pittsburgh. I already miss all the hype and happiness.

Entirely more complicated era with Belichick as well. The man is a coaching genius. If they win the Super Bowl, I dunno cos much more major props are in order. IMO.

Congrats PATs fans.
Great season for the Steelers!! I'm not that let down. That was a helluva season and there's a big pairing over the next few years for Steelers fans.
Now to watch NEW ENGLAND demolish LOOO's ego...

I'm rooting for the Eagles...
I picked them from the start...no reason not to stick with it...
Both good teams. Good game. But it will be NEW ENGLAND's.

Is Lou going to be at your house for the game?
How can you root for New England...oy...Dave's PA withstanding...
Dynasty, that's why cos they supposedly no longer exist and cos of Lou.
No doubt, but I don't think the Patriots can be stopped. I feel bad for Steelers fans right now. Philly fans will have their hearts broken into weeks.Originally posted by POJO_Risin

It's a win-win situation for POJ. If the Eagles win, he'll feel a little better, kind of like a "fuck you" to the Patriots. If the Eagles lose, I won't be talking trash.
My objective opinion is that the Eagles will lose. They will have to play an absolutely FLAWLESS game to win. Basically it's a Villanova/Georgetown 1985 situation. The Eagles will have to be perfect in every phase of the game, from the coach down to the no-names on special teams to win.

Isn't this pretty much the way most people predicted at the beginning of the season?
Personally, I thought Philly would falter at the end, but they pulled through. Congrats to Philadelphia. I wish your Super Bowl opponent were another team though.
I just said they'd lose, what's your point? Pissed off they won today?Originally posted by MAX

I said long ago that no NFC team could compete with the AFC contender this year and I stand by it.
OK and that's fine, it's just obvious you're pissed off that the Eagles won, or that the Stillers lost, or both.
I'm just looking at all of these games objectively. I think to myself, "If my life depended on it, who would I pick?" And right now the Patriots are the better team. Unless something ridiculous happens like Brady getting injured in practice, even with T.O. coming back it's a long shot for the Eagles to win the game.
No,
I stopped being biased when my Broncos once again failed. I'm just an observant footy fan at this point. I didn't give a crap who won today.

I've got some friends in Filly...they're a little slow too...

pretty fucking convenient...
and pssst...fuckhead...I NEVER said I didn't like the Eagles...
There are five things in sports I hate...
1. the Yankees
2. Michigan
3. the Browns
4. Used to hate the Bulls...obviously they aren't there any more...
5. Pompous jackass fans (ie...98% of Yankee fans)
Your internet persona has acquired quite a bit of that number 5...
which I find interesting...because you haven't always been a pompous arrogant ass...

Ya never know.
I was wrong, the Pats didn't feel the the steel. Excuse me while I crawl into a bottle of Jack Daniels.
