Talking I´m going to bore you with my gear collection!

I´ve already posted two guitars on other thread so I´ll revive those in the future and start with something new!

This is a Fernandes "The Revival" lefty body with a righty neck from the same series. Of course, I also have the exact opposite, to be shown later on.

Both of the guitars these parts came from were perfect '62 Fender Strat copies. Played, sounded and crafted like a vintage Fender. I just wanted a righty vintage Strat with a reversed headstock so when I came across a righty and a lefty Fernandes used at almost the same time I couldn´t say no. The result, two great and slightly unusual guitars!

How do the Fernandez stand up to a real strat ? I am not really a strat guy, but I use them for solos on recordings cause they cut through so well over Les Paul rhythms. I have a Fernandez Vertigo that has a bunch of kooky on board efx that is a really nice playing guitar, but due to the sounds I only use it for 4tk recordings and such bullshit. It's more of a comedy tool than a kick ass guitar. Like I said though it plays well.

I guess what I'd really like to know is do they sound good or REALLY good ?

A "lawsuit" Fernandes The Revival Strat beats the shit out of any Made in Mexico reissue, not only soundwise! I own 5, 2 lefties and 3 righties, and I have yet to find a flaw, except of course the same flaws Strats had in the 60s and 50s!

OK, a 2000+ $$ custom shop reissue will of course beat the Fernandes, but anything else would be an ebarassment for Fender!

OK, here´s my 1987 ESP The Eclipse Custom. I searched quite a while to get one in that light and sparkly pink finish.

It´s a neck thru arch topped construction with an excellently working ESP licensed Floyd Rose trem. A relatively heavy guitar with a killer sound, thanks to some great ESP pick-ups, and endless sustain.

Anybody who knows ESP´s custom guitars will know what a player this one is. Super low action and all that.

As an Ebay addict I know these are super rare since I´ve never seen one there!

The Fernandes's are very well made and have a fine setup right off the rack.

Only thing I'd do is change the neck and bridge pickups to used-Fender "pre-1975" staggered polepiece pickups and peel about 350 winds off the bridge PU, and about 800 winds off the neck PU.

Ok, so here´s a Fernandes Superstrat, a real shredder´s dream.

Nice C profile neck, so well crafted that I was able to set the action so low you can hardly squeeze a stamp between frets and strings, even at the 12th fret.

The original Floyd Rose trem works like a dream.

The extended cutaway and tilted neck joint allow access to all 24 frets.

A DiMarzio humbucker in the bridge position and an unidentified mini humbucker in neck position both give you powerful sounds without getting muddy.

This is a high speed show off solo guitar, no less!

Yeah the springs on the back kinda give it away Flappo.
It does have a whammy bar ! (Just not inserted in that
    pic)

Cool loooking axe, I like easy access to those high frets.
Is it a copy of Fenders Heavy Metal Strat ?

Here´s one of my 70s strats, all original and in good shape. It´s a 78 in a so called "natural" finish.

It´s certainly not one of the lemons Fender produced in the 70s, quite the contrary!

That is a very metal looking guitar! It looks like it is the offspring of a SRV Strat and a Gibson SG. Those colors remind me of the devilish style of the classic Gibson SG. I bet it can rock loudly and proudly!

It rocks real well. But, considering the money all original 70s Strats sell for nowadays, I hardly dare play any of mine at gigs anymore.

    Here´s my first ever Fernandes.

It´s a "The Revival" 62 Strat copy out of the "lawsuit" series. They were just too goog to be true so Fender had to do something.

This one has gold hardware. I got it used so I can´t say what kind of wood it´s made of.

Every little bit of this guitar is perfectly copied from the original thing. They probably even checked out the original pick ups intensely because it sounds 100% as you would expect it to.

This is vintage feeling in perfection at an extremely affordable price. A guy wanted to sell all of his gear and just described this guitar as "Strat copy", so I offered what I thought some gear plus a run of the mill Asian Strat was worth used. A steal!

So here´s what I play when I feel like playing some jazz, or when I visit a jazz session.

It´s an all original 1958 Gibson ES 125T. T is for thin, it´s about half as thick as the standard ES 125.

Sounds like it looks, 100% vintage Gibson P90 sound.

And, unlike with most Gibsons, the neck was never broken.

Here´s my Lag "The Beast" custom, californian series.

Lag is a company from France, that till a few years ago produced handmade boutique guitars in France. Nowadays they also produce some series in Asia.

This one is still a handmade French one. Californian series means the wood is from the USA and not from France.

This is a simply held superstrat-like guitar. The neck´s more or less like an average Strat neck. Not as thin as, for example Ibanez RG necks, which fits my playing well. Plus, I love maple necks with reversed headstocks.

The body is just darkened and oiled, it doesn´t have an actual finish. Two original Seymore Duncan pick ups deliver one hell of a heavy metal sound and the Schaller Floyd Rose trem can take a beating.
