Very Rare AC/DC Videos with Bon Scott

    Right Click to Download

British Music TV Special, London - '77
    Dog Eat Dog

    Live at the Apollo, '78
    Girl Got Rhythm

The MidNight Special with WolfMan Jack - '79 (Great Quality/Color):
    Sin City-

Trivia: AC/DC and Van Halen are the same production age, shared the stage in '77 & '78, and both have two brothers playing in their bands. Yet, AC/DC has sold 20+ million more albums than VH, are R&RHOF members (03), and their 2001 Stiff Upper Lip Tour was extremely successful on all counts, unlike the 04 SpamBoys Tour.

    -----------
Bonus: Here's an 1983 Studio video with Brian Johnson fronting after Bon's death in 1980.

    Nervous Shakedown

Requires Windows Media Player / .wmv format
    Resolution 256 Kbps
    File Sizes:
    Girl Got Rhythm: 6.3 MB
    Dog Eat Dog: 6.5 MB
    Sin City: 9.1 MB
    Nervous Breakdown 8.4 MB

Always kinda wondered if we'd fell better about Sam if Dave had died instead of going off on his own. I mean, Johnson isn't half what Bon was but you don't resent him for it because Bon isn't out showing everyone what could have been.

    Just a thought.
Have Squeeler playing right now, in fact!

AC/DC rocks, I never miss their Tours. But I have always thought Van Roth was a better band.

The Sister's totally screwed VH up, the Young brothers didn't screw AC/DC up, and look where they have gotten over the decades.

Pic from the last time I saw AC/DC in concert.

One more thing Clear Channel promoted both the 01 AC/DC Stiff Upper Lip Tour, and the 04 SpamBoys Tour.

    + AC/DC's Tour was a smashing success

    - We know the story on the SpamBoys Tour

Therefore, couldn't have all been CC's fault on the SpamBoys Tour disaster

    = The Sister's

Yeah, almost as "cool" as that giant "Flying A" guitar dwarfing Randy Rhodes(RIP). Sometimes the guitar looked as big as Rhodes.

I personally think Angus is extremely under-rated, and is one of the best guitarist in the world. Not fast and flashing as some, but solid and always delivers, while flopping around like a fish, lol.

    AC/DC

The video for Girls Got Rhythm was filmed in Paris 12/9/79 not at Apollo, Glasgow 1978. The song wasn´t released until 1979.
Nobody, I said nobody makes noice like Stockholm. DLR at the Monsters Of Rock show in Stockholm 08/25/84

Review: Back In Black - AC/DC

By the end of the 70s, AC/DC were on the verge of superstardom. But with all the debauchery and boozing surrounding the band, the fast lane caught up with a vengeance. Lead singer Bon Scott drank himself to death, leaving the Australian outfit between a Highway to Hell and a hard place.

They considered breaking up, but chose to move forward. By some miraculous streak of luck, Brian Johnson, an up-and-coming Scot who'd been paying his dues with the obscure Geordie band, became their new singer.

Within five months, AC/DC produced their biggest blast of high voltage to date. It pitched a tent and settled down for almost six months in Billboard's Top Ten. A year after its release, Back In Black was the best selling hard rock album of all time. Today, it has sold over 20 million copies.

With producer Robert "Mutt" Lange -- the man who would continues to hit the charts with Def Leppard and and wife Shania Twain -- on board, AC/DC sucked it up, headed to Compass Studios in the Bahamas, and braced for a new beginning.

Their vivacious manner was quicker on a dime, but still as balls-to-the-wall as ever. Perhaps taking Scott's passing to heart, Angus and Malcolm Young mightily dish out some of their biggest and baddest riffs.

The erratic yelp from Johnson is a little more soulful, and a little less reckless than his predecessor. From the get-go, it's nonstop, fist-pumping, foot stomping shredders like "Hells Bells," "Shoot To Thrill" and, of course, the lilting title track. The leadoff single, "You Shook Me All Night Long" is still one of the most distinctive, thunderous shakedowns in modern history.

If you're looking for romance in something like "What Do You Do For Money Honey" or "Let Me Put My Love Into You," you've bought the wrong disc. Nothing about AC/DC evokes the slightest hint of tenderness.

Even when the band pays tribute to their fallen front man, they feverishly toast him with the intoxicating "Have A Drink On Me." Just to prove they're not going anywhere, the CD ends with "Rock and Roll Ain't Noise Pollution," a prophetic declaration.

Twenty five years later, we're still getting this wild man in a parochial school uniform armed with a Gibson SG and stalking the stage. And when the lights come down, we flick our Bics, shudder at the camaraderie, and prepare for maximum overdrive. Let there be rock! - Review by Shawn Perry

I want to answer that hypothetical raised, where if Dave had died
would we have accepted Spammy. No way.

Brian Johnson (even though half the singer Bon was) is far more in the same vein than Sammy was, in relation to Roth.

Sammy has always felt wrong to me, in Van Halen. Even if Dave had
died, I would feel the same way. Just picture the two versions
of Van Halen live, Sammy is so out of place.

I actually think the sisters could have picked a better replacement.
(Although there can never be another Dave, there was a million
singers out there more appropriate than Spammy)

100% agree with everything you stated.

Also, imo, I am always surprised how much "Bon, there is", in Brian Johnson, yet I don't think Brian tries to be a Bon cloan. Yeah, Brian is no Bon, but I think he has been perfect for the Young brothers and AC/DC as a band and their image. Also he and Angus are great together doing interviews/PR stuff. Funny!

I just read/heard what the deal was on a new AC/DC album and Tour, but cannot remember the deal....killed too many brain cells the last week and a half on the road and doing NAMM.

Have to check my notes, after I get unpacked this weekend. Seems like I remember AC/DC was going into the studio this summer to finish a new album, with a Fall 05 release, and early 06 Tour.

    Something along those lines
