G'day boys! Yay, another footy season come round again! Hope yas all been well, and all bushfire-recovered.

The Swannies bloody frustrated me (again) last night, so I'll say no more. As usual, I'm hoping for a Dragons premiership in the NRL this year under Wayne Bennett, there's good promise there, give it more time still long way to go.

Hey Panamark, Carlton play Sydney in a few weeks time (on the 18th April, I think?) at the SCG, you going to the match? Was gonna say if you wanna catch up for a few? Also Parra should do pretty well this year, they got a good coach going there with that English guy (sorry, the name escapes me).

Hey Dan, hope things are good with you mate across the Tasman. Do expect to see a Sonny Bill in the All Blacks WC side in 2 years time?

Underbelly - bloody love it! The 2nd series still doesn't beat the 1st series (the cast in the 1st series was way too cool), but still a good show and worth watching (even with countless sex scenes), I love 70s period they've captured. I only just wish they got rid of that Matthew bloody Newton (as his bare arse!) he irritates me. He ain't no Vince Collisimo or Les Hill.

On another note, never thought the current Labor government would take this country into recession in their first term, I was expecting that if they gained a second, they certainly outdone themselves this time round (sorry, just had to do it).

Unfortunately, you'll only see me once every blue moon or so. I have very restricted access to the internet at work, and don't have it currently at home, but aiming to get it set up again soon.

Does anyone actually go and watch their NRL team live anymore ?? All I ever see on TV is a few people bunched up on one side of the ground watching.. (About the same numbers AFL get at their training sessions)

The dismal crowd numbers is usually found at matches at ANZ (Homebush) and Aussie Stadium where you'll always see a shitload of empty seats - most supporters simply won't go to a match (especially when it's considered a "home ground" split between so many teams) and food is all expensive, etc. But you'll always see big crowds at the old traditional grounds (i.e. Eels at Parra Stadium, Sharks at Toyota, Dragons at Jubilee). It generates a better atmosphere. ANZ and Aussie is better suited for Origin, Tri-Nations, Finals, and GF.

87,000... Not bad for a regular home
and away game, and Carlton were
awesome. I've had people that hate Carlton
tell me how great they played.
Dont want to get too confident too early though..

But that game was the most enjoyable Carlton
Game I have watched since the Blues knocked
Essendon out of the finals in 1999 (after the Bombers
were virtually undefeated all year). That
was almost 10 years ago. Long time inbetween

Well since the Swans (and Micky O'Loughlin and Bazza Hall - salute you guys!) bailed out long ago, I'm not up-to-date with the AFL ladder. The footy in the NRL has been exciting all year, and I don't mind the occasional off-field shenanigan (though was very unfair on the Matty Johns thing). In no way of getting way ahead and too cocky for myself, here's to hoping for a Dragons premiership for the first time in 30 years.

actually, when I was a kid, back in the good old days, ESPN showed a lot of the Australian football here in the States. I never missed it. Always waited to see if the official pointed at you with one or both hands. And you could always count on someone getting seriously injured.

I've missed these little Carlton/Essendon debates with you mate.

Dissension,I'll grant it amongst several senior players last year but we still made finals.
Not this year though,she's all steady as she comes down at Windy Hill on the eve of the 2010 season.
I've got a couple of friends of mine who are connected also mate,the place is a pretty happy joint at the moment and everybody is happy Hille will be back and looking as a group to completely back Jobe as a captain.
Obviously Knights has done the right thing by trumping the Saints with the Lovett pick and to be honest as much as I have loved Lloydy and Scotty I'm pumped about watching our new young forward line take shape and win us another cup in the the next couple of years.
Neagle,Gumbleton,Hurley and throw Ryder onto that forward line now that Hille is back.
Carlton has mentioned that Judd will play as a forward sometimes this year in answer to their forward line dilemma now that Fev has flown the nest.
I know which forward line sounds the more promising and I'll grant you that you have a gun midfield but it isn't enough and that's why we always seem to beat you lately.

Final note on Fev, I'm really curious as to see how he handles
letting Jonathon Brown do his stuff, and fit in with that....
Fev tends to hang his head when things are not going his way.
Will be interesting for sure, either they will be unstoppable or
will counter oppose..... I dont wish bad on the dude, but
I would find it amusing if Voss's gamble doesnt pay off the way
he wants it to.
