And one of the ladies at the ice cream stand called me babe al lsweetly. Now, I have it on good authority from a friend who lives in the area that is normal, but it still freaked me out a bit.Originally posted by Cathedral
The airport does suck here. always delays out the ass no matter where you go.
but yes, i highly recommend it to all who read this. It is a multi-bridge party.
People come from all over the country for this event, and it is awesome.

Yeah, some people are friendly. it is definately different than what you are used to, lol.
But you do kind of have to use judgement because not everyone is so nice.
Oddly enough, there is a bit of a lesbian scene around here.
I'm sorry dear. I'm spoken for. But if I wasn't, I'd give ya a call.Originally posted by ashstralia

First trip down to WV and EVERYONE and their mother was nice to me. I kept telling JG that I had to get used it because he saw that I was really quiet. I mean, hell, my own family (aunts, cousins) isn't nice to me how these people were. And it's like high school -- everyone knew who I was, where I was from, etc. It was so weird for this yankee.

Ok, people, if it's to any comfort: I did in fact not wear the bandana that night, or the shoes in question. Good choice! It did snow! They are indeed called Van's (or something), and i found this link to an ebay add: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...sPageName=WDVW
The shoes look bether in reality, I think
As for the bandana/ 80's "dispute"...I must admit I'm quite, ehm, fascinated by the 80's, as I, even though i was born in 83, never seriously got to "live" it. I remember the end of it vaguely: Sublime acts like swedish rockers "SHA - BOOM", Roxette and others (well, at least I'm honest), and the fall of the Berlin - wall. The eightees where the happy days, or so I've heard, but as soon as I developed some sort of consciousness for lack of better word, the first thing I encountered was the swedish financial crisis in 90/91, and, lets be fair, the world cup in soccer in italy in 1990. (I was there and had an special World cup Ice cream in Rome- true story, kiddin' you not). Short conclusion: I have a right to at least in a most superficial manner reconstruct the 80's in my own little hermetically concealed world. It won't be a very realistic model, I know, but it's my vain attempt to at least catch a glimps (how do ya spell that?), of a time that appears to be an era much better than the current....(with some reservations - I am not in favor communism)
