Last year I bought one of the new(ish) DLS401 things though and I think it's excellent, best combo I've ever heard.
It's a lot cheaper than a stack, great tones and loud enough to cut over live drums.
All in all the best choice for the 30 something, fuck around in the garage demographic...

The only combos i'm interested in are the #2 combos on the Wendy's menu.
As for the 'hummin while you work' comments...it has happened a couple times, that's why i used to love groupies who visit rehearsals.
The only thing missing was the Marshall.
I had a Crate solid state half stack at the time, total piece of shite.

But i don't consider my amp a Peavey anymore. You can't buy my amp at the music store.
Only one that looks like it.
If it's any consolation, it was modded by a Marshall Maniac, though it sounds way more like a Soldano than a Marshall or stock 5150.

No tone from a Peavey ever made my dick hard. Not even EVH's 5150. That amp had a powerful sound but was not musical. A good amp should sound like a hot ass looks like. A 5150 doesn't paint the nice round curves in the air like a Marshall does.No! You can't have the keys to the wine cellar!Comment

No shit. After firing up that fucking Marshall cabinet I got last Friday, I noticed a serious difference between it and the Carvin cab I had.
REALLY sweet sounding. Rich. DROOLABLE EVEN!!!!

I actually liked the old Peavey VTM 120, but that's about it. LOL The 5150 was too fuzzy and noisy, but a definite improvement for the company. I absolutely hate their guitars....Comment
