Not happy with Roth
Hagar said the possibility of rekindling his friendship with the Van Halen brothers was his primary motivation for touring with Roth, but he quickly realized a reunion would be impossible.
"Seeing what kind of person Dave is, now I know why they have never been able to do the reunion with him because he is unreasonable," Hagar said. "He's a complete nut. He is not an average bear. He's on the moon. He's unreasonable and he's shot."
Roth, who stopped giving interviews halfway through the tour, was
unavailable for comment.
Notice how Dave just took the high road when Hagar took every available opportunity to bash Dave. Dave once told Howard Stern Sammy would sell his own asshole for a buck. Dave also mentioned numerouse times that Alex Van Halen wants to wash anything colorful and anything Dave out of the VH legacy. Dave knew Alex was a huge problem a long time ago and he also mentioned Alex liked to keep Eddie on a short leash because without his guitar ledgend brother, Alex is nothing.
All I can say is Sammy met with Alex and weazled his way back in. Sammy and VH made their huge guarentees but no promoter with a brain will ever touch that band without Roth in it again.
Yeah Sammy, you got back in VH and you were a huge failure with shitty show attendance and album sales. Be careful what you wish for Sam because it just might become true. Cabo Wabo! Asshole!
