yes new ozzy, no new roth?????

They have been playing the new OZZY cover version of missisipi queen like mad over here on the radio.

Why didnt they play anything of Diamond Dave like crazy as well?

There cover tunes that are well done and if i might add better than the original versions. keeping up the tradition started in the CVH days were they would take a tune and make it better!!!!!!!!!

Any thougts??? ideas????? Bring them on !!!!!!!!

There aren't many people that even know Diamond Dave was released, except us. But, I agree that tunes like "Soul Kitchen" should have gotten some serious airtime!!

Right on Carmine!!! i agree 100%, i like the doors to a certain level but soul kitchen was never really one of my faves but i totaly dig Dave`s version way way better.

Thats my point not many know of the album, whats his management team doing. Why are they not hyping his stuff. I dont get it.

Its a shame that Dave works so hard to put out and produce some great music and it does not get its full potential audience.

I love Daves version of Soul Kitchen. Best tune on the CD!!

Blame it on, a sub par record label and no promotion.

Yeah its def one of the better tunes as well.

I really like made up my mind, Shes looking good, you got the blues not me and i really like stay while the night is young.

when i hear stay while the night is young, his vocals the light and easy style of the music to me is comparable to CVH classics like

Little dreamer, secrets and woman in love

Soul Kitchen could have fared well on the classic rock stations.

I know the fuckers here in the ATL would have loved it.

I hate to say it but the dumbasses at Clear Channel aren't going to give Dave any props until there's a reunion with VH. Even then I doubt the CCC would hype it up because of their vanilla ass programming.

The only time I hear Dave - solo Dave that is - is on the 80's Friday night show on Star 97 here in Nashvegas. Just a Gigolo, Callifornia Girls - and that's it. Hell I don't even here those much anymore.

You're right Ragu. It's sad we're probably the only ones who know about Diamond Dave. I liked the album, but I don't think it's one of his strongest - considering the majority of the songs were rehashed from the vault. We need a new DLRBand CD!

Unfortunate and sad. Dave is STILL very newsworthy! I mean, we knew about the EMT work long before CNN got a hold of it. Once they did everybody and their brother did a peice on ole Diamond Dave. Most reported it inaccurately saying things like "Former Rock Star" and "Ex rock and roller" as if Dave had retired from music or something. Thats my point, again,We, know stuff about Dave, the rest of the world does not and its sad!! To the majority, Dave fell off the earth in 1991 and hasn't been seen since. Too bad for the majority, they missed a kick ass 14 years...

Absolutely. A few days ago at work my colleagues were making fun of me for being on this site. I told them the fuckers at the Huey Lewis and the News Army banned me. They didn't get it.

What really pissed me off is that they said "Are you checking to see what state fair he's playing?"

Then I asked them what's in their CD player right now.

One said Jessica Simpson, the other said Ryan Cabrerra.

Like those fuckers will have a fan base 20 years after the fact.

I rest my case - and on their face.

Some of my friends that I told that I was going to Canada in November for a weekend asked why? I said too see DLR. They were like "is he still around??". I said "he never left", and proudly pop in the DLR Band CD. Ok "friends of mine", this was recorded in 1998....any questions?

    Gets em everytime!!

BTW, Jessica Simpson...I'd bang her, but wouldn't buy her CD!

No Judge would have sentenced you for smashing their cd players.

Agreed! So many people just glomming on to trendy bullshit. Sad statement on the future of musical taste, really.

As for Ozzy....I'm a fan, but he's become such a sellout in the last few years that it's no surprise his shit is getting airplay while DLR is not.

Maybe DLR should have lobbied MTV to do a reality show on his life as an EMT....

David Lee Roth has a cult following, not a mainstream interest anymore.
