    An angry DLR fan.

After reading a few of the threads i have wanted to express what i'm thinking about some of them, but the comments overlap so i thought i'd do it this way.

There was an interesting one about AC/DC with Bon Scott and Brian Johnston.

The main difference between that and Van Halen is obviously the music. Hagar changed the sound and made it more "Mature" (shite) whereas AC/DC's sound remained the same.

However. If David Lee Roth had died, i don't reckon that sammy Hagar would have been accepted at all. Not just because he sucks.

If you think of it this way, what if Bon Scott was still alive, but just quit. There would be a huge rivallry between Bon/Brian era fans. Which is something that i don't really get from AC/DC fans who seem to appreciate both eras but like Bon Scott more (Most think he was better).

So if DLR had died, The band would have had a bigger incentive to keep the original sound of CVH living. If DLR had died, Sammy wouldn't have got the job.

Then, there's these guys (Tom Vu, Three Lock Rock) trying to convince us that Sammy was better in Van Halen because he sold more records. That doesn't do anything other than reiterate the stupidity of the general public. Just because it's popular does not mean it's good. I'm pretty sure Nazism was popular in it's day.

Nirvana had a song on their "In Utero" album called "Radio Friendly Unit Shifter" Which is EXACTLY what Van Hagar is. That music was designed to sell loads. CVH was designed to be performed by the four individuals that wrote and recorded it. The music at the time was revolutionary. Van Hagar was just the same as all the hair metal soft rock drivel that was out at the time. That's why it sold, not because it was better, but because it was more "Radio Friendly" because it wasn't about sex, which is unsuitable for regular programming.

If you're going to come to the Army with your Pro Sammy shite you'd better have a fucking better argument than "Hagar sold more albums so fuck you" because... guess what?

WE'VE HEARD IT ALL BEFORE AND WE'RE STILL HERE!

YOU CAN'T CHANGE SOMEONE'S MIND WHEN THEY'RE RIGHT ABOUT IT!

    Peace, Love and Happiness:

Van Hagar sold more albums ?...that's really a shitty argument indeed, coz VH1 or 1984 outsold all the van hagar albums combined ! Hahhahahahahahahaa!!! DAVE#1MO'FO

last album was called live hallelujah (unless you include the reissue of his hits, the essential red collection, among his albums - i dont). dont have the numbers in front of me, but i do know live hallelujah outsold diamond dave about 2 to 1.

of albums/re-issues with NEW material presented, that would have been 'the best of both worlds' which went platinum.

    any questions?

not 4 sale and it STILL sold more than diamond dave.

anything put out since 1991 has sold more copies than davids stuff. getting right down to it, thats the truth.

    and 50 cent outsells everybody.

poor david, though...as soon as they release his albums, the store employees glue them to the shelves. that cant help him much.

I'm here coz it's 4am (BST) and i have fuck all else to do, what's your excuse.

Catching up 200,000 units per solo project, Sammy will have to release about 100 more CDs to catch up to Roth's catalog.

It's amazing what Dave can get away with when he sells a Sammy-lifetime's worth of units before age 30.
