Heard a new version of "Black Betty" on late-night radio and thought it was a dream. Then I heard it last week at a Timberwolves game.
So...who does it?

Haven't heard the new version...I certainly hope it is better than Ozzy's cover of Mississippi Queen. What the fuck was he thinking?

Yeah, that was pretty bad. OZZY's career really is in the shitter. He records shitty covers with Miss Piggy, records the same album over and over, plus is led like a dog on a leash. But he can't put shit aside and finally record an album with Iommi, Butler and Ward. Then again, I'm biased. I always like Sabbath much more than Ozzy solo.Originally posted by BrownSound1

I think Ozzy covered Mississippi Queen because its the music in the opening scene of The Longest Yard.
Adam Sandler re-made the movie and its out in May(?)

Ive never liked this song either, but the Spiderbait version is at least interesting. Got some crunchy guitars and mad banjo's going down...
...but you can imagine my concern and the amount of anger when duirng the autumn and winter, the finnish "rock" station was playing the song more than CVH, LZ and Sabbath combined!Originally posted by Panamark

Yes ,that would be a concern... I would take CVH, LZ and Sabbath anyday over Spiderbait
I hated that song. It had too much overplay down here.

I have only heard the original recording and the RamJam version which came out when I was 16...
