I put maybe. It just always has us guessing no matter what happens with that band.

Dude, at this point I don't think Dave would do it... at least until Ed gets his act together good enough to play the Classic Tunes CORRECTLY...

And probably the part that doesn't, too.

Can't say Sammy leaving the band is all that encouraging.

1996 was the prime opportunity for CVH to reconvene beyond the couple of tracks put out on BOV1. Opportunity blown.

Late 1999, when Cherone bailed/was fired/who cares what the circumstances were, because maybe NOW the reunion will happen, was yet ANOTHER chance for CVH to put it back together. A second chance to reunite. A second attempt was made. Same attempt failed. Strike two.

2001-2003: Ed sighted at various golf courses, wife leaves, battles cancer, "three albums in the can", etc., etc. Dave continues to tour, releases Diamond Dave. Nobody from the CVH lineup is doing anything so crucial that it couldn't have been put on hold for CVH to regroup. Zip.

2004: For reasons of convenience, Van Hagar reunites, releases a greatest hits with three new Van Hagar tunes, presumably the musical results of Ed's long hiatus coupled with Hagar's own....er....inimitable "style". Van Hagar hit the road. Crowd turnout in many venues is less than overwhelming. Tour finishes at end of 2004.

Yep, this would a yet another chance for Roth to rejoin, 'specially now that Sam has informed us all that he's "done with" Van Hagar.....five months after the tour ended (Hagar displaying the off sense of timing he's always had in spades. Hey, Sam, Cabo Wabo called. It wants it's idiot back. Off you go.). Another period in time making itself available for the furious four of CVH to serve it up right. However, Dave booking solo concert dates this summer leads me to believe even he's given up on any CVH possibilities.
