Again, couldn't happened to a nicer guy.

What's more amazing. His contract specifically stated he was prohibited from riding motorcycles.

Talk about someone thinking they're bulletproof.

I don't feel sorry for him one bit. He still has daddy's money to fall back on.

In fact, the only people I feel bad for are the BROWNS scouts and fans who have to suck this one up.

      If I was Davis, I would've taken Winslow too. It's a no-win situation.

You can do all the background checks on a guy you want, somethings don't surface until it's too late.

This guy was trying to charge teams or agents (can't remember which) $10,000 to just interview him. Maybe the writing was on the wall.

I know Davis almost had to take him because he didn't want to have the Portis thing over his head anymore and they traded up a spot with Detroit to get him.

Even if he was hell bent on riding a motorcycle, he still was much too careless in doing so. Being a novice, popping wheelies and erratic driving, all while still limping from the leg he broke in wee 2 of last season.

I went back and looked at some preseason footage we had of him back at the station (we produce the Titans preseason games). When the Browns came to town last summer, they didn't let any media members talk to the guy, didn't let us talk to him in our production meeting (it's usually protocal for the broadcasters to talk to key players before the game to get personal nuggets), and they whisked him away to the airport in a limo, while all of the other players took the usual charter buses.

Now, you would think a guy who is treated like the BARRY FUCKIN' BONDS of the NFL would at least be worth a shit.

We have 5 minutes of footage that iso'd him getting his ass rocked by Randy Starks EVERY SINGLE PLAY. It's like he wasn't out there at all. One shot he obviously looked frustrated and his eyes were all watery like he was about to cry. This guy is the BIGGEST PUSSY I've ever seen strap on a helmet. I would almost guarentee if he hadn't been injury plagued he would be as big of a bust as RYAN LEAF.

I think if they try and get any of his bonus money back, it will tell the tale ... he might be done for good.

Police: Winslow to be cited in motorcycle crash

              May 20, 2005

CLEVELAND (AP) -- Browns tight end Kellen Winslow Jr. will be charged with disregarding safety in the motorcycle crash that put his 2005 season in jeopardy, police said.

Police in suburban Westlake will issue a citation Friday afternoon, Lt. Ray Arcuri said. The charge carries a maximum fine of $150 with no jail time.

Winslow tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee when he crashed, two sources within the league told The Associated Press. An injury such as Winslow's typically requires 10 to 12 months of rehabilitation.

Winslow also sustained unspecified internal injuries when his motorcycle hit a curb at 35 mph and he flipped over the handlebars while practicing in a parking lot near his home May 1.

The Browns have Winslow's medical test results but the club cannot disclose the nature of his injuries because they have not received permission from Winslow or his family.

He spent nine days in the Cleveland Clinic before being released last week. Winslow, who has been resting at home, has not commented on his accident or his injuries.

Winslow, who missed 14 games as a rookie with a broken leg, breached a hazardous activities clause in his contract by riding the motorcycle. The Browns could ask him to return part of the money he already has been paid as part of his six-year, $40 million contract.

                  Endo his season

A surveillance video showing Kellen Winslow Jr. performing dangerous stunts on his motorcycle led to the Browns tight end being charged Friday with operating his sport bike in willful or wanton disregard of safety.

The offense is a minor misdemeanor that carries a maximum fine of $150 with no jail time. Winslow could have four points added to his Ohio driving record. If an Ohio driver accumulates 12 points in a two-year period, the driver's license is suspended for six months. Winslow has zero points on his Ohio license.

In 2003 in California, Winslow was clocked at 90 mph in a 65 mph zone and had to attend traffic school.

Westlake Police Lt. Ray Arcuri said a key piece of evidence presented to Westlake Prosecutor John Wheeler was the tape, which clearly shows Winslow popping wheelies and endos, a stunt where the back wheel is popped.

"He was caught on tape attempting these dangerous stunts, so it was clear to us that this was more than just negligence or failure to maintain control of his vehicle," Arcuri said. "We definitely felt he was being reckless."

Winslow crashed his red Suzuki GSX-R750 May 1 in the parking lot of Cuyahoga Community College's Corporate College West in Westlake. He hit a curb and flew over the handlebars, landing about 16 feet away in a landscaped area. He suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee, according to a source, and will miss the 2005 season.

The surveillance tape clearly shows Winslow, clad in a red leather jacket, performing several endos and at least one wheelie. At one point, he swerves to avoid hitting a landscaped island in the lot.

"He almost crashed right there," Arcuri said.

Wheeler said the tape helped him make his decision.

"Based upon the conclusion of the accident reconstruction, the accident report and the tape, I found that Mr. Winslow operated his vehicle in a willful and wanton disregard of safety, and I told the police to issue him a ticket," Wheeler said. "I felt the evidence was conclusive. On the video, you see Mr. Winslow doing all sorts of stunts on the motorcycle."

The next step is for police to issue the citation and forward it to Rocky River Municipal Court. The court then will mail a summons to Winslow ordering him to appear in court to answer the charge.

Arcuri said Winslow declined to be interviewed during the investigation through his attorney, Michael Nelson. Arcuri said Nelson had asked for a list of questions beforehand, which "is unusual in this type of situation. We just wanted to give him an opportunity to give his version of the events."

The tape corroborates eyewitness accounts of Winslow performing stunts in the weeks leading up to the accident. On April 16, police responded to a call that Winslow was popping wheelies on the streets of his Westlake subdivision. When they arrived, he was gone.

Also, on the day of his accident, he was seen popping a wheelie by an off-duty Canton-area policeman while on his way out of a Starboyz motorcycle stunt demonstration in Canton.

Winslow's contract with the Browns expressly prohibited him from participating in hazardous activities such as motorcycling. The team may elect to recoup between $5.7 million and $10 million from Winslow for breach of contract.

Winslow, who spent nine days in the Cleveland Clinic recuperating from his injuries, which included undisclosed internal injuries, is back home in Westlake and being driven to the Browns facility in Berea for rehabilitation on the knee. He will undergo reconstructive surgery after possibly getting a second opinion.

Well Hypothetically If the steelers had drafted lets say Brady in the 6th round, Wouldn't you call that a good pick EVEN if he's from MICHIGAN?

Look I hated the guys guts when he played against Purdue and OSU (Braylon that is.), But I could tell the guy was talented and Am very happy we picked him up.
