    Eddie's Synth

What kind of synthesizer play when he was really into it?

An Oberhiem OB-8 Synthesizer. They were high quality analog synths that were very popular in the 1980's. Unlike digital synths, they had a warmer sound, less options and you could dial in your sound with knobs instead of having to program patches or using mode buttons.

Basically a keyboard that was made to toss the manual away and just fuck around with the knobs until you stumbled onto something cool. Much like a giant guitar effects peddle in a way. That's why Eddie loved those things.

Doesn't matter. The Synth ruined EVH. Turned him into a PUSSY-ROCKER.

The synth was limited in classic VH. It worked for JUMP. Where it became the fag love in fest was in Van Hagar. One Foot Out the Door on Fair Warning was done on a keyboard.

Shit, I'm suprized Eddie didn't strap on a keytar and go dancing around with it in the Van Hagar years. That was some lame shit.

You say that but the sound he used for Jump was preset 1...

I see you can pick one up for maybe $2k these days. I think when they first came out they were over $100k!

thanks a lot i'm too lazy to seek it out any other way. The synth that Hagar likes is what ruined eddie's music The way he was playing the synth in 1984 was perfectly fine.
