Nothing anyone can believe right now. Every team is lying about who they want, who they need.
This draft should have more trades than we've seen in a long time in my opinion.
I honestly think that this could be one of the most INTERESTING draft days of all time...
no one knows who's going to be 1...and to be honest...it could be any of 10 guys...it only depends on who deals up to get it...
should be a fun day...can't fucking wait...
Yeah, the funny thing is that since the 49ers are so cheap, Aaron Rogers can go #1 overall (since they aren't willing to pay Alex Smith what Eli got paid).....or he could drop out of the top 10, maybe even the top 15.

Should be a fun draft, with so many trade possibilities.
It's funny that the 49ers are really the laughingstock right now...hard to get that...when they were the creme de la creme for 15 years...
now...just an afterthought...if they take Rogers #1...they blew another draft...
They'd only take him because they are too cheap to pay Smith what he's "worth."Originally posted by POJO_Risin

The Niners are becoming the NFL's Expos.
God...it has to suck being so fucking bad...you can't even afford to be bad enough to get the #1...
lmfao...that shit is funny...
They screwed their cap so much over the years. Adrian Petersen was a stud linebacker until he ripped his Achilles, but yet they still franchise him. Money for nothing.
The only thing you can say is that they are keeping the other teams guessing and took a little of the thunder from the Doplhins, who assumed they had the best bargaining chip at numer 2. The Niners started flip flopping on who they were targeting to make sure they would have to be spoken to about any move up pretty much.
But when York took over the purse strings, shit went bad in a hurry for them. They're in a bad way and it will take a lot longer this time around compared to the last time they were in "salary cap jail" while Mooch was there.
Well...give the team back to the gambling DeBartalo...at least he enjoyed owning the team...what a bunch of bumbling fucks...
Niners lead off unpredictable NFL draft
April 22, 2005
NEW YORK (Ticker) - The consensus is that there is no consensus No. 1 pick in the 2005 NFL draft. Forget about even figuring out a top five.
The San Francisco 49ers will go about the business of looking out for No. 1 when the draft commences on Saturday. It could very well turn out to be the defining pick for new coach Mike Nolan and vice president of player personnel Scot McCloughan.
After narrowing the choices down to junior quarterbacks Alex Smith of Utah and Aaron Rodgers of California and receiver Braylon Edwards of Michigan, it appears the Niners have settled on Smith.
But then there's the signability factor. Tom Condon, Smith's agent, doubts that a deal can get done before Saturday's draft.
"We still are going to listen to other teams to discuss trade possibilities," Nolan said. "We have been all along and will continue to be open to a trade."
If Smith or Rodgers is called first by commissioner Paul Tagliabue, it would mark the fifth consecutive year a quarterback is chosen No. 1 overall, following Eli Manning, Carson Palmer, David Carr and Michael Vick.
But this quarterback would also join a hallowed lineage which has gone from Hall of Fame quarterbacks Joe Montana and Steve Young to Pro Bowler Jeff Garcia in San Francisco.
The 6-4 Smith led Utah to a 21-1 record in two years as a starter, including 12-0 last season. Operating out of a shotgun in a four-wide option attack with multiple formations, Smith completed 68 percent of his passes and threw for 32 touchdowns and four interceptions. He also rushed for 631 yards and 10 scores.
The 6-2 Rodgers has a stronger arm than Smith and more experience running a pro-style offense. But there is concern over Rodgers' size. He is not as physically gifted as former California quarterback Kyle Boller, a first-round pick of the Baltimore Ravens in 2003, but is more accurate.
The 6-3 Edwards has a chance to be the first receiver to be selected No. 1 overall since Keyshawn Johnson in 1996. He caught 249 passes for 3,503 yards and 39 touchdowns in his three years as a starter at Michigan.
The Miami Dolphins own the second overall pick and new coach Nick Saban would like to trade down for extra selections. Saban is on the verge of recovering a second-round pick from Kansas City for cornerback Patrick Surtain. The Dolphins sent their original second-round pick to Philadelphia for A.J. Feeley.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers reportedly have considered moving up from No. 5 overall to Miami's position if Smith is available. If not, Saban will likely select Auburn's Ronnie Brown, who is considered to be the most complete running back in the draft.
The Dolphins ranked 31st in the NFL in rushing last year after losing Ricky Williams, who abruptly retired before the start of training camp.
Another team under a new regime - the Cleveland Browns with general manager Phil Savage and coach Romeo Crennel - own the third overall pick. If Smith and Brown are the first two picks, then the Browns will likely select either Edwards or Rodgers.
The Chicago Bears have the fourth pick and general manager Jerry Angelo is believed to be enamored with Texas running back Cedric Benson, who ranks sixth on the NCAA career rushing list with 5,540 yards.
Buccaneers coach Jon Gruden is seeking an offensive playmaker at No. 5 and could go for Southern California receiver Mike Williams, a perfect fit in a West Coast offense, or Auburn running back Carnell "Cadillac" Williams.
The Tennessee Titans may take the first defensive player in the draft with the sixth overall pick. After losing both of their starting cornerbacks - Samari Rolle and Andre Dyson - the Titans may opt for University of Miami cornerback Antrel Rolle.
Linebackers Derrick Johnson of Texas and Shawne Merriman of Maryland, Rolle and fellow cornerbacks Adam "Pac-Man" Jones of West Virginia and Carlos Rogers of Auburn, safety Thomas Davis of Georgia and ends DeMarcus Ware of Troy State and Marcus Spears of Louisiana State are considered to be the top defensive players in the draft.
The Minnesota Vikings, Dallas, San Diego and Washington each have two first-round picks. The Vikings acquired the seventh overall pick in the deal which sent receiver Randy Moss to the Oakland Raiders.
The New York Giants and New York Jets, Buffalo and Denver do not have first-round selections. The Giants sent their pick, which turned out to be No. 12 overall, in the package for Manning last season.
The draft is being held at the Javits Center after a long stay at Madison Square Garden. The first three rounds will be held on Saturday and the remaining four rounds on Sunday.

I can't wait!
The Niners are screwed if they take a QB because no matter who they get, Leinart is the real number 1.
True that. Dan Snyder may be a rich sumbitch, but he can't pay somebody to get his head out of his ass.Originally posted by DLR7884

Titans take Mike Williams tomorrow. Book it.
I don't think Leinart is going to be the #1 next year...maybe I'm wrong...but we'll have to wait and see...
This year...
Alex Smith...#1
Ronnie Brown is #2...
Braylon Edwards to the Browns...#3...
so far...all the teams did well...smart picks...on the board...Chicago...
Cedric Benson with the 4th pick...I think he's the best back in this draft...
The Bears did good here...but you have to wonder how many calls they got for that pick...went over the 15 minute limit...thought for sure there was a deal there...
Cadillac Williams taken fifth...
unprecedented...2 tailbacks taken top 5...
I'm not a big Cadillac fan...but we'll see...I think both those Auburn backs are good...but I just don't see them both making a major impact...we'll see thought...
both end up in Florida...

I'm liking the Lions at 10 more and more.
Troy Williamson...speed...
unreal...I think Mike Williams is a fucking steal at this point...
Kiper also ... he's had a tough week anyways ... and he hates to keep repeating himself about it, he had Williams the #1 player in this draft overall. He knew he wouldn't go #1, just thinks he is the best player.
Look...any of these guys are a top 5..I think the Lions are going to have a hard decision though...
Zona has to go Rogers or Rolle here ... after dealing Starks in the off season.
If I were Arizona here...I'd take a look at Rodgers...
I think Mike Williams is a steal at this point...
but Rolle will be very good...
