It was the foundation for what became Mean Street.

In fact, when you listen to other VH demos from 76-77, you will find that tons of riffs and portions of songs appear on the six pack.

It's almost as if EVH shot his wad as far as songwriting goes before they even had a record deal.

He sure as hell hasn't written much in the last 20 years that is noteworthy.

    Voodoo Queen became Meanstreet, yep...
I don't hear any House of Pain in it.....

"Last Night" became "Hang em High"

Personally I prefer Voodoo Queen and Last Night, I think they're better songs with better lyrics

"Cradle will Rock" had an earlier different version too if I"m not mistaken although I can't remember it hehe. So did a few songs from 1984.
I like Van Halen more than Dave's PA Rental.....which means I like Van Halen more than you

Mean Street is a fantastic start to one of my favorite albums, but I still think Voodoo Queen is a better song.

It's almost like a precursor to "Everybody Wants Some" with Dave's yelps and screams.

Mean Street and Voodoo Queen have the same opening riff but I prefer Mean Street.
