David Lee Roth Vs. Sammy Hagar

These two titans of ego, both ex-lead singers for hard rockers Van Halen, had already seen Van Halen fans feud over which version of the group was better — the early one with the lion-maned Roth, or the later version with tequila pimp Hagar.

In 2002, the two decided to put it in the hands of the fans and launched a tour with each singer taking turns as headliner. Diamond Dave played 90 percent early Van Halen tunes, while Hagar mixed in stuff from his successful solo careers both before and after he was in Van Halen.

The two jibed at each other onstage during their respective sets but never came to blows. For the record, Van Halen was better with David Lee Roth.

I think bookings may be a problem when it happens. A Roth fronted Van Halen is going to be without any doubt THE biggest draw for any rock band in the last 15 years easily.

I think if CVH were back together, they would be able to put a big stage on the coast of the Isle of Man, and FILL the whole Island with fans. Seriously.

I think if it happenned the atmosphere would be not unlike the atmosphere at the Queen + Paul Rodgers shows. The atmosphere there was one that I have never experienced before, it was more than just a typical party atmosphere and excitement. The only way I can think of describing it is if you thought your BEST FRIIEND in the whole world ever was dead, then 20 years later, you find out that he isn't. That, plus party and excitement.

Stadiums! Multi-Day festivals with about 10-12 bands doing their full stage show. Not that cheap ass money grab that Kiss/Aerosmith pulled.

after they're done maybe a jam session with anyone in the bands wanting to jump on stage and play some righteous covers!

Van Halen reuniting with Dave ain't gonna be seeing half-empty arenas like Van Hagar 2004, that's fo' sho!

1996 was the prime opprtunity. Guess it could still be done, but if it's gonna happen, it needs to happen SOON. Time is working against these guys, 'specially Ed, by the looks of it.

I already know the perfect venue for CVH if they come to Toronto, or at least the Toronto area. Molson park! They use that for Vans Warped Tour and Harley Davidson anniversary fest 2 years ago.
Look, if your area has a festival park like that, than that would be
great. Skydome/Rogers Centre? I could see that. We have to band together and keep up the faith. Heck, if we are in the same area, we can get together before a concert and have our own army party!

I would have to skip school for the whole thing. Damn, just another reason why they should tour.
