  • Greatest Driving Song

I think they require a few CVH songs in here

The best of the BBC, with the latest news and sport headlines, weather, TV & radio highlights and much more from across the whole of BBC Online

So What CVH song makes you want to floor it? I went for Hot for Teacher. Theres something great about having the top down on my car, that song blasting and just flooring it.

Everybody wants some, especially after the second chorus as Dave's yelling "Ooooh yeah yeah yeah yeah" and then the solo kicks in...that gives me a serious heavy foot.

Loss of Control, Light up the Sky, Unchained, Girl Gone Bad....all killer driving songs.

I got a speeding ticket jamming Panama one time. A friend of mine who I just dropped off was laughing his ass off because he saw me flying, happened to listen to Panama on the same station. Called me in the car and asked if I was listening to Panama. That was 15 yearsd ago, and we still laugh about it to this day.

That's funny cause its happened to me a few times. I'd forget how fast I'm going when I'm blasting CVH from my car stereo.

Panama, fer sure. Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love, I'm The One, One Fire, Jump, Hang 'em High, Unchained, ...And The Cradle Will Rock, Runnin' With The Devil etc...

Grate for cruisin' down the street at 5 km/h are Mean Street, Ladies Nite in Buffalo?, Little Guitars, You Really Got Me, Beautiful Girls, and a couple of others.

So, I'd say if you go on the highway listenin' to Van Halen, the other drivers may be quite surprised to see you passing them at 200 km/h only to pass you a bit later, when you're just cruisin'... Very versatile, Van Halen.

                    Cheers! :bottle:

When I'm tired and a little fed up with my pupils, I like to play "And the cradle will rock" when I'm driving back home, rising the volume when I see prams at the traffic lights... Even though they don't understand English where I live, at least it does me good.

Otherwise, any CVH song fits with driving. The best party music for the most part, even if WACF and FW were tougher. Besides, you just can't start dozing off...

Generally speaking, I can't drive without playing a CD, even for a 2-minute ride.

I just think of one particular song (in fact all my CDs fit with driving, depends on the destination, my mood, the person who's with me...): Creedence's "Pagan baby". You know, that invincible crafty devil's boogie...

You've Really Got Me...PERFECT for driving in every sense...

Especially in a convertible! In California!
Without DLR in the lineup, Van Halen is merely Rat Salade...
