What is the Van Halen fanbase percentage? In my opinion it is 70-30 Roth. I was just wondering this and I feel this is the proper ratio.

i have no clue. though i think there is a set in there of people who don't have a favorite among the 2.
though, i'd definitely say more fans of the group named "van halen" prefer dave to sam. at least 51% prefer dave. whatever % is left is split somewhere between those that either prefer sam or like both equally. bet money on that.
I doubt you could really get an accurate statistical figure... the internet population on the boards isn't a very good indicator cause most fans don't frequent these places if even know about them...

Plenty kept buying records released under the Van Halen name after Roth left.
Would imagine Van Halen's fan base is comprised of guitar fanatics, or 'Eddie grunts' as someone once coined the phrase, who will dig Halen regardless of who is fronting them. Along with however many Sammy Hagar fans jumped on board when Cheese Ass joined up in 1985. To be fair, there were probably a lot of women who dug the classic lineup only because Roth was fronting the band, and could have gave a toss about what Eddie was doing. Add whatever percentage of Extreme/Cherone fans and members of the Big Al and MA cults are floating around out there, and you've got a pretty diverse selection of people who dig Van Halen.
Me, I'm into classic Halen. Always was, always will be. Makes trying to accomodate to a shifting band lineup real simple; I don't. Period. I still dig Dave's solo work, and there have been a few moments after Roth left that Van Halen managed to rise above mediocre, but in terms of Halen there's only one lineup worth mentioning.
Why not just do a little research and find out how many fags are in the country. If it's 8%, then there's your answer.

On this finnish hockey site forums, a very popular one, I put up a little historique about THE LEGENDARY VAN HALEN...
Among those about 15 persons who replied on the message, there were a couple of persons who liked Sammy songs but still preferred to Dave as the real singer of VH...so at least the situation is very good in Finland
