INTERSTATE LOVE SONG alone is better than the whole VELVET REVOLVER album. And don't get me wrong...I love the VELVET REVOLVER album. But there's no way they could write something as cool as INTERSTATE LOVE SONG, or DOWN, or HEAVEN AND HOT RODS, or LADY PICTURE SHOW, or VASELINE...

Hell, I even love that bonus track on the 2nd album.

But the 77' one is classic for the ROGER WATERS' rant in which he stops the song "SHEEP" and tells an audience member to stop with the fireworks "for fuck sake, I'm tryin' to sing a song here..."

The audio is very good, though not great because it is an audience. It's a bit distant, but also in stereo and lends itself well to FLOYD's atmospheric, etherial feel.

I'm listening to "The Best Of the Rainbow" (Room) London 1972. It's an FM, BBC prefeed tape.

Stone Temple Pilots win due to song construction. Diversity in writing. Not chops All of Slash's solos are the same. He'll write a token song in "D" for every album. STP blended different influences (Ok, they stole from better musicians, like Joe Walsh)but they blended jazz and different beats and put more into their writing. I take the chops comment back because Robert is a hell of a bass player. Yes Hollywood Biotch is better than anything VR has done, I do like Set Me Free though.
