Did you wish them a happy 40th anniversary for NOT winning the Stanley Cup ???
For as much shit as they talk, you'd think they were the Oilers or Islanders of the 80's....

One of my finest moments actually.
It reminded my of the scene from the Nutty Professor when Prof Clump is in the night club harrasing the comic in his new skinny persona.
I think I made some really good friends and enemies that night.

First Orpik's return vs. Cole, and now this....

Penguins' Malkin will play Wednesday
Monday, October 16, 2006
Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
Penguins center Evgeni Malkin will make his NHL regular season debut Wednesday night against the New Jersey Devils at Mellon Arena, the team said today.
Malkin, 20, has been out of the lineup since his left shoulder was dislocated in a collision with teammate John LeClair in an exhibition game Sept. 20.
Malkin, the second overall pick in the 2004 NHL draft, joined the team late in the summer after a dispute over whether he had signed a new contract to play for his Russian team. Malkin said he was pressured into signing the contract.
People are not happy with it on the whole. It looks like some college or bush league logo; thank God for the third jersey though:Originally posted by DavidFlamma
Buffalo looks good.
Well, except for their Disney-like jerseys.
(Which should be their first jersey again...)

I bet it will be next year...
Speaking of the Sabres, they're owning the Flyers 6-0 at the end of the second, and they now lead the league in goals...
I wouldn't mind the new jerseys if they were the third jersey, but the let down is that most people thought they were going to modify they're original logo, instead of adopting this blando expansion-team looking thing...
Hmmm, I dont recall saying that....Originally posted by DavidFlamma

They will make the playoffs this year....
Gotta love those Sabres!
I want them to win the Cup this year.
Canucks are good with Luongo, but not as exciting...
I miss Jovo, although he can be a liability.
Canucks need a guy like Darcy Tucker.
Some parts in America despise them too. Especially here in Buffalo. This may well be the first time in history Leafs fans will not be able to get many tickets at Buffalo's HSBC Arena for the Leafs at Sabres games. I went to a game last season, and it was almost as loud when the leafs scored as when Buffalo scored, although the Leafs didn't score that often. It's tough to get decent Sabres tickets this year though, the season ticket holder ranks have swelled...Originally posted by DavidFlamma
It was too funny talking to Leafs fans when I was in Toronto recently.
They really have no clue how the rest of Canada despises them.
It's not their fault, really.
But the rest of the country gathers around with blood and friends to break bread and have a few beers and watch Hockey Night in Canada.
Who do we have to watch, no matter how horrible they are...the stinkin' Leafs.
I really enjoyed my rants...
I'm gonna take pappy to one though before I skip town, but the Sabres are selling out as never before...

Funny thing is, despite how bad the new Sabres jersey is, they're the #1 seller in the league: http://www.buffalonews.com/editorial...18/1001304.asp
Luongo is the man, but I wonder if we would have grabbed Roloson before Edmonton that we could have kept Jovo and/or Carter.
That way we would have had 2 great lines and a great offensive d-man.
There is a lot of character in this Canucks team that was missing last year, but they need a spark.
Sedins set up Naslund to tie game with 26 seconds left in regulation.
Boys set up Salo for OT winner with 0.8 seconds left.
This is a character team.
Buffalo 7-0. Looking like the most exciting team in hockey, along with the Pens.
I like Luongo better than Roloson myself, although it would have been nice to hang onto Jovo ... Carter was replaceable.Originally posted by DavidFlamma

Luongo stops EVERYTHING in the third to pave the way for another late tying goal and OT winner.
This Canucks team has something they haven't had ever.
A money goalie to keep them in every game. It is so huge. Power plays sputter, guys have slumps. If your goalie is there for you you can pull these games out of the fire.
Just outstanding!
Sabres for the Cup.
Tucker for Saturday MVP!
You guys need to watch the highlights tonight...
Malkin scored on an absolutely fucking SICK play to beat Brodeur....
Oh yeah, Pens 4, Devils 2...
Pittsburgh Penguins = 1st Place !!!!!!
Recchi was right...he does remind me of Mario.
Wow! Here's to the Pens not becoming the next Tampa Bay when all those contracts expire. Staal will probably be sent back to the minors so their contracts don't come due too close together.
They have a few years to make some magic. Finally some eastern teams worth watching
Shit, I even like Tucker now.
9-0. Going for the record tomorrow night. Buffalo has a few concerns, but they've won without even playing their best hockey yet.
Here's the Malkin goal on Youtub....

Not only are they the best team in hockey right now, but all of their lines skate like the wind.Originally posted by Nickdfresh

I wish I could see more of their games
If they stay healthy...I don't see them doing anything but getting better...
a 9-0 start is fucking incredible...
Sabres Tie NHL Record; Win 10th Straight

The Associated Press
By IRA PODELL
UNIONDALE, N.Y. (AP) — The Buffalo Sabres are making their historic start look easy.
Maxim Afinogenov pumped in a goal and assist, Ryan Miller stopped 29 shots, and the perfect Sabres beat the New York Islanders 3-0 Thursday night to win their 10th straight game and match the best start the NHL has ever seen.
Afinogenov set up Ales Kotalik's first-period goal and scored one in the second. Miller did the rest for the Sabres, who tied the 1993-94 Toronto Maple Leafs — the only other NHL team to jump out 10-0.
The Sabres can break the record at home against Atlanta on Saturday. Buffalo, which fell one win shy of the Stanley Cup finals last season, has a team-record 15 consecutive regular-season victories.
Malkin
will
score
82 goals
Don't know why it took you 4 posts to say that, but he's sure as hell on his way....
It won't be 82 goals, but the chemistry between him and Crosby on the same line is simply un-freaking-real....
I'm so fucking psyched for next Saturday, when Poj, me and my son will be 5 rows from the ice to see him live for the 1st time in Raleigh....
That game is going to very fucking rough.... Erik Cole's first chance to play against Brooks Orpik since his injury.... Trevor Letowski's first chance to play against Colby Armstrong since that brutal (but clean) hit....
I'm sure the Pens will have both Cairns and Roy on the 4th line for that one....
I gotta tell you...that game will be electric Va...absolutely electric...
looking forward to seeing Malkin and Crosby together...
and little Staal as well...
should be interesting watching him on the ice against his brother...
especially with all the bad blood...
LOL, little Staal...Originally posted by POJO_Risin

Damm, wouldnt it suck for all you Leaf haters to have the Leafs be the ones who beat the UNBEATEN Sabers? (Well, unbeaten except for 1 game in a shootout anyway)
Damn...wish I could see that game...
I'm stuck with flipping back and forth between the Bruins/Lightning and BC/Wake Forest...

Actually, its one of the best all around Leafs games I have seen this season, the Sabes may be losing but its been a great game....11 min to go 4-1 Toronto....
Buffalo getting lots of PP chances but are blowing them....
That's cause they haven't played the Pens yet....Originally posted by Full Bug

So Flamma, would you like your crow feed by a spoon? With it beaten over your head? Or would you like it served by yourself so you can choke on it? Dont bother telling me the Leafs got lucky, if you say that then its easy to tell you didnt watch the game....Originally posted by Full Bug
