coldplay has one good song.....
Wow, talk about constructive criticism. Geez, I wish you gave everyone such up beat and positive comments all the time.
What's the 1 % of modern music that doesn't apparently suck according to the infinite knowledge of you?
I was talking about their new albums, just for the record.

I also think they are lame and boring. . .For that matter, I can't remember the last new band that caught my attention. Probably the Smashing Pumpkins, eleven years ago
Keep on Rothing in the Free World
i just can't get into these newer band.....they all sound the fuckin' same to me....you can't tell one band from the next....it gets on my nerves after awhile....there is the odd new song i'll listen to once in awhile....
not even the Chili's, or Radiohead (you can't say Radiohead sound like anyone, 'cos no one can slur words like THom Yorke) or R.E.M? I'm slightlt offeneded by all this. Do any of the bands i mention count, because R.E.M formed in the late '70's, the Chili's in the early '80's and Radiohead in the late '80's, early '90s. What about Kings of Leon? No one sounds like them. They're completely different. Please, people, don't give up hope.
i said NEWER bands.....as in default, nickelback, sum 41,theory of a deadman(all though i don't mind some of there stuff) they all sound alike...they are very borring...the bands you named aren't that new...
Coldplay = the "Simple Minds" of this decade. Nothing but U2 ripoffs without a shred of originality. Makes you wonder if Gwyneth Paltrow settled for that clown because Bono is already married.

They both blow dick.
However, Oasis' new album is pretty good.
Foo Fighters - I'd give it a *** out of *****.
i hate grohl or how ever the hell its spelt. All my friends love the foo fighters and i try and get them to listen to good music (DLR) and they have the cheek to say grhol is better than DLR!!!!!!!!!
i think he has a bad voice and is fucking stupid on the vid's,he dresses up as a woman consistently and just in general does stupid shit on the vid's.i hate his stupid beard aswell. He was an ok drummer ill give him that but he should stick to drumming.singing is not his strong point
I don't care for the either of them, I think the Foo Fighters get ink just because Grohl was part of what I considered one of the shittiest, overrated bands of all time, Nirvana

Foo Fighters is a talented, good rock band. I'd say "The Colour and the shape" a is TOP10 album of the 90's. That is the only superb album they've made, though the first one and the last one are good too. Dave Grohl is one of the best rock drummers ever, and a pretty talented songwriter as well.
As a band, I'd never compare them to the all-time legends, but they're very entertaining and good anyway.
Coldplay - why the fuck would you bring them up along with the FF, they're totally different in every way...dull adult pop with no real edge. Likely even less interesting than U2 during the last 10 years or so.

lol
Coldplay is one of those bands that goes multi-platinum... but nobody will confess buying the album!
foo's kick ass...period...good tunes and great players..
The FOOs rock and I really like the new COLPLAY song.
I had 'nuff of the Foos...Grohl should have stayed behind the kit with THE QOTSA!!!
I would bring Coldplay up with Foo Fighters because they have both released new albums, they actually released them on the same day, and are probably the two albums fighting for no. 1 and the stand out new releases of the month. Did you not realise this, or was it becuase you do not have the capacity to make that connection like everyone else.Originally posted by Golden AWe

Ive never understood why people listen to Coldplay. If you want to hear radiohead music, why not just listen to Radiohead?
I dug The Foo Fighters' first album and The Colour And The Shaoe. After Smear left.....not so much. Kinda fell into a formulaic Foo pattern after that.
But Grohl does seem to be getting an amount of press attention disproportionate to his talent.
Only thing I can out it down to is when so much of what's out there now just plain sucks, at least in terms of the contemporary rock bands getting major face-time in the media (radio/tv/media mags), you don't have to be mind-blowingly incredible to be hailed as the best. All you have to be is above-average to good. That's the category I'd put Grohl and the Foos in.
Suppose it's nice that Grohl pays lip-service to Led Zeppelin in interviews and whatnot, but just because he played drums behind Lemmy and recorded with John Paul Jones ain't vaulting him into the stratosphere where Motorhead and Zep were/are, IMO.
Coldplay, obvious U2-isms to one side, are part of this annoying trend in bands I hear nowadays where male singers are warbling on like a bunch of oversympathetic, politically correct bitches these days, cribbing lyrics from self-help books on display at supermarket checkout lines. Shit, when I first heard that Velvet Revolver track, 'Fall To Pieces', and Scott Weiland is whining about writing in his journal............this is the pussified shit that's passing for rock these days? No fucking balls.
Scramby eggs and bacon.
I like some of the Foo Fighters stuff.
I wouldn't compare Coldgay with Radiohead though....
I don't know alot about Radiohead, but they seem to be a bunch of introverted, weird fuckers.
I don't know alot about Coldgay, but everytime I hear that one adult cuntemporary piano song, I think to myself, "goddamn, this is the fucking worst dingalinging, maggot-infested, rotting pile of audio lament I've ever fucking heard in my life."
Just horrible. That shit is like music they play during footage of beached whales.
I like the Foo Fighters, but I haven't heard the new stuff yet. I can't stand Coldplay; I find nothing about them that's worth the hype....
The Radio likes them both.
So they must be good !
BABY PANA 2 IS Coming !! All across the land, let the love and beer flow !
Love ya Mary Frances!
That song really takes a lot away from the album. It is prime pussification of an album. There's definitely some slammin tunes on Contraband though. It's good to hear someone of Slash's caliber still burning up the fretboard.Originally posted by Terry

this is a message to hand some dan give up now arguing with these die hard DLR fanatics sis no use note: i am a massive DLR fan but not quite Die hard
Also note that hardcore DLR fans know what punctuation is.
Joe, when have i been arguing with these fanatics? I asked their opinions on both bands and everyone has given their opinion, usually quite an abrupt one, and i have merely asked whether the bands i listen to and like are in classified as being in the group that they obviuosly have a dislike for. Just conversation, no arguments that i can see. Remember Joe, i know where you live.

I have both of these new albums. I like them both. Yes, Coldplay is a U2 ripoff, but I still like them anyway. Their cd's really come in handy when your on a long drive and your 20-month-old daughter is screaming at the top of her lungs and won't take a nap. A Coldplay cd puts her to sleep every time.
The new Foo is good, but not as good as previous albums. The damn acoustic side was a fucking waste if you ask me. There were probably 2 songs worth keeping and they should have just thrown them in with the rock stuff and made it one CD.
