Gervin was hands down my favorite player growing up. All they had we he and Larry Kenon (sp?). Not going to get very far with Billy Paultz at center.

Remember "The Whopper Play"? They would toss the ball at the board to the side of the basket he was on, he would grab iit and lay it in. Was always a complete surprise play they could only run maybe once a game.

No question that Jordan is #1 here.

The Pearl was a scorer, period.

Moncrief was solid all around offensively and defensively. Injuries shorten his career too.

I had shirts, posters, jerseys, all of it ... tried to shoot the ball from the side of my head like he did ... he was a Detroit boy ...

I just remember watching them in the playoffs...and listening to how the Spurs couldn't beat the Lakers to get to the dance...

kinda like my Cavs in the late 80's and early 90's...

I doubt we need more than ONE on here. Obviously it's MJ. And come on, Kobe is better than Sidney Moncrief and Hal Greer for god's sake.

I thought the Iceman played the 3?

    Who's Kobe?

If Gervin's position was listed as a 3...he played the 2...

Of course...how many times did Magic guard forwards...while Cooper would guard the PG?

I think Kobe is better than Gervin already.

He's won more and he's a better defender than Gervin was.

I know I am an old fart but I got to say that the best of all time averaged about 50 points a game in College. He could shoot from anywhere on the court, drive and handle the ball like no one ever has. Unfortunately personal problems hurt him in the pros but I gotta give props to PISTOL PETE MARAVICH!!! He was Magic, Michael and Larry Bird all in one.

That is true POJO and that made for some of the greatest match-ups in NBA history in the 80's and 90's Magic and Bird!
