    In Memory of Thurman Munson

It was 26 years ago today that former AL Rookie Of The Year (1970) and MVP (1976); Thurman Munson was tragically killed practicing take offs and landings in his Cessna Jet on an off day in his hometown of Canton, Ohio.

Being a huge Yankee fan, Thurman was my favorite baseball player as a kid. I even wore his #15 in Little League. It seems like only yesterday that I was an 11 year old kid playing wiffle ball with friends when one of the older kids came racing into the park on his 10 speed, out of breath with tears streaking down his face to break the news that there was a newsflash on WPIX TV announcing that Munson; Captain of the Yankees, was killed in a plane crash.

    RIP Thurm
    Gone but never forgotten
