Good luck. I'm no expert on bootlegs, but to my knowledge VAN HALEN was very tight with their soundboards during the 1984 tour.
I know of no SBD boots from that tour, I thinks it's because several SBD's from DIVER DOWN era were released into the bootleg community like US Fest, LARGO, etc.
There are some very good to excellent sounding (for) audience recordings. But "Backstage CHARLOTTE 84'" is about as good as it gets.
I guess they were gonna re;lease a live video from the 1984 tour. actually they officially filmed a couple of shows(3/24,25) or more. but they didn't for some reason
Don't notice most of my posts are less than 2 lines...

I heard they filmed even more than that. 1984 was the year that VCR's were getting big in the US.
I had a cassette recording years ago of the L.A. show from '84 that was RUMORED to be soundboard...myself, I don't know enough about audio to tell (didn't then, anyway), but I do know that it sounded OUTSTANDING, whoever recorded it. In the years since then, I've heard other recordings of it and none came anywhere close to matching the quality of the cassette I had.
Sadly, the tape was, well, a tape...and ended up getting destroyed due to overplay. I had a backup, but it conveniently ended up missing shortly thereafter...
