    Early Def Leppard

Well, I posted this thread on Guitars101.com earlier on, but I figured: "Hey, fuck, do my Buddies @ Rotharmy have that too ??"

    Here's what I'm lookin for:

    -First Strike (demos from 1979)
-The Def Leppard E.P (can't seem to find it)
-Any show from the 1978-1981 era

BTW, if anyone has other stuff by the Leps, it'd be cool too !!!

    Thanx a million, my Friends...

I used to have a show from `79 on cassette.

It was recorded for the BBC "In concert" series, the one that Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix etc. did.

It included songs from their "On throught the night" album.

"Hello America", "When the walls came tumbling down", "Rocks off", "Overture" and "Wasted" were included.

The show opened with the unreleased "Glad I`m alive", which was a really good song.

Fuck knows what I did with it.

It must be out there somewhere, though.

"First strike" will be harder to come by.

It was only out for a short time before it was injuncted by Leppard.

It was released by their former manager Frank Stuart-Brown around 1985, no doubt trying to cash in on "Pyromania".

Leppard`s main gripe was the quality, which is allegedly not great.

I`m not sure if any CD editions exist.

Again, it will probably be on the web somewhere, but where?

              I do have the EP.

Not the first run, but the yellow labeled second run with MSB 001 as the catologue number.

I think only 15,000 were pressed.

It might be the rarest record I have.

Cost me £10 fifteen years ago.

I don`t think I`ve played it for over ten years.

It'd be cool to hear the early demos.

They sucked balls from Pyromania onward to this day !

Fluffy gasteric bile , Mullet rock !

They started off with perms, pioneered mullets and then got those horrible early 70`s glam rock feather cuts in the 90`s.

Never has one band had so many bad haircuts.

define "rocks"? Def Leppard is anything but cool, good, rockin' or musical anymore. This is a bold statement, but Id seriously rather listen to Sammy Hagar era VH and Gary Cherone VH.

I love the first three Def Leppard records. After that, I have no interest in them at all.
Tons of synths, all those layered & processed backing vocals just drive me crazy.

The only live show I have is an 83 L.A. show from the "PYROMANIA" tour which smokes!
